Someone else

Yellow eyes watched the crash site carefully from high up in the tree top. Two of its four humanoid hands gripped the branch above its head while its feet balanced on the thicker branch taking the creatures weight.

The creature had been travelling for a number of days. It had been thrown out of its tribe for hoarding food, for fucking the alpha-male’s mate and their daughter. The creature wasn’t sorry for its actions. It was only sorry it wasn’t quite strong enough to defeat the alpha-male and take the tribe for itself. If it had managed to do that then it would have had plenty of food and females.

It was the roaring sound in the sky that attracted its attention first. It knew that the sound wasn’t normal. It knew to be careful of not-normal things but also that such things presented opportunity.

Perfectly hidden among the leaves of the fruit trees it watched as something smaller than it climbed out of the strange grey pod.
