Some rest shouldn't hurt anyone

It was getting quite hot down in the emptied pool by now, and so Jack didn't see any problem with having a quick break to get some rest. Kimberly too had been working a lot more than he'd expected after all, which meant they'd still be done long before lunch, even if they spent some half an hour cooling off in the shadow by the house.

What Jack didn't quite count on however, was the fact that Catherine stayed around to keep them company, which caused her younger sister to slack off just a little too much, and it wasn't long before Kimberly was snoring softly while lying back in one of the sun chairs. Luckily she'd managed to move it away from the open space out by the pool at least, and so they wouldn't need to worry about her getting burned by the sun while she was dozing off by the door to the kitchen.

Meanwhile, Kate was all the more talkative, and she kept her father company even as he'd preferred to get back to work again. It wasn't like he was all too keen on getting back to work in the sun by himself after all, once he'd got accustomed to the cool shade by the wall, and so he let her keep talking in wait for her sister to wake up again.

He wasn't able to focus too much on what his daughter was saying however, other than the rare few things which didn't concern her work or the weather, as he found himself busy just trying to ignore the state of her clothes while she was lounging on a chair of her own. For some reason she'd always been naturally good at posing, which made it somewhat difficult to believe that she hadn't already started a career as a model, but far worse was the fact that her skintight top and minimal shorts didn't leave much room for her body to move in, without revealing even more of her body than she'd already exposed.

"Don't you think it's just a little too much though?" Jack asked her eventually, when she happened to mention how nice it felt with so little clothes on during hot summer days like these. It wasn't like he wished to confront her on the subject however, as some part of him actually enjoyed her company, and it was some time since he reluctantly gave up on trying to admonish her regarding her choice of clothes.

"What? You think I could do with less?" Catherine smiled at him teasingly, as if she'd completely misunderstood his wording, and then she looked back at her sleeping sister, who was in some ways wearing even less than herself. There was a certain difference between a bikini and wearing a minimal amount of normal clothes however, at least as far as Jack was normally concerned, but some of that reasoning was kind of lost while neither of the girls were currently out in a public area.

So, as Jack wasn't didn't have any actual complaints, he decided to simply drop the subject for the time being. Catherine wouldn't quite let him off the hook so easily however, but eventually gave up her teasing when he merely shrugged at her next couple of indecent suggestions, though it did have a certain effect on him when he pictured the idea of finding her sunbathing naked one of these days. Perhaps he wouldn't even care too much about it, he realized then, if he'd only kept a little more liberal relation to his daughters from the time they were little.

There wasn't much he could do, or even wanted to change about that right now, so instead of taking her bait he decided it was well about time to get back to work again. Waking Kim could actually wait till later as well, he figured once he was heading for the pool, as even if she did work well she was still a bit too much of a distraction to keep around him.

For this reason it took him more than an hour just to finish the cleaning, and he'd already started to work on the pumps when Kate returned to wake up her sister, which meant that Jack was left alone to fill up the pool with water, while the girls decided it was better if they got started on preparing the lunch...
