Snogging In The Dark

"What on earth is that?" asks Gordon.

"Oh, I know, we used to play this at school," says Anita.

"Really?" asks Melanie, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh, you know what I mean. At parties after school."

Mark just looks embarrassed.

"Some of us still haven't got a clue what you are on about," Martin reminds the girls.

"Well, I'm surprised you haven't played it, Martin," Marcia blurts out, and then looks guiltily at her husband.

"Maybe, you should explain the rules to all of us, John" suggests Melissa, bringing some order to the proceedings.

"Okay," you say, "its really very simple. We designate three corners of the room as snogging areas. Then we switch off the lights and each go into one of the corners. Then we snog whoever we find there."

"And by snog you mean..?" Martin begins.

"Well, in school it was mainly kissing, but I guess whatever you want really."

"And then what happens?"

"After 5 minutes, we put the lights back on and see who ended up with who," you say brightly.

"So, whose stuck with switching on the lights?" asks Dan.

"Not a problem, old boy," says Gordon, "we've got timer switches. Kind of anti-burglar devices. We can program them to come on in 5 minutes... just in case people are too... er busy to notice the time."

Everybody seems quite enthusiastic and you try to guess which corner Martin will choose.

Gordon finishes fiddling with the timer and the lights go out. An air of excited anticipation arises in the room, as people make their way softly across the carpet to their chosen corner.

You decide to make your way to the location nearest the buffet table - on the grounds that if nobody else goes their, at least you're near the food.
