Chapter 4
by katran
Where should I sit?
Sit with Tom
I walk towards the end of the bus.
My brother Tom and his friends are chatting about their last game.
Game they lost at the last minute, thing that has hit on the team morale pretty bad.
"Hey Tom, isn't that your sister?" one of them say while pointing towards me.
"Hi Tom" I say as soon as I am close enough.
"What do you want?" My brother replies directly.
"Can I sit here?" I ask as I look at him.
Tom seems to look for a moment at his peers.
Before he can reply even reply, the same one that pointed at me a second before speaks
"Come on Tom, let her sit, she might even cheer us up a little bit"
"She is my sister" Tom says while looking at him.
After a weird moment of silence Tom looks back at me
"Fine, you can sit if you want" He says
I smile and sit next to my big brother.
Eventually the conversation starts again.
James, one of the oldest members of the team speaks
"Tom, the team has lost its unity, we have many new members and lost several old ones at the start of the year, we are lacking the connection we used to have."
"I know" My brother says
"Besides if we don't win the next two games we wont classify for the championship" James adds
"I know" My brother repeats
"Don't just say 'I know' we are talking about the championship here, for a few of us its our last chance" James says elevating his tone
"Look James, calm down, the new boys are fine. We are merely lacking confidence and unity as a team. I will talk with the coach to see what we can do about it, once we are able to strengthen our bonds as a team we will improve our game" Tom says with confidence.
"I hope so..." James replied as he sat down
From there the conversation moved onto the more technical aspects of the game, which for me they were as if they were speaking in another language.
After a while we arrived to the school.
