How does Grant Wilson help?
Showing the way to new allies
"It seems to me that if your plan is to be successful, then we shall require more allies on our side," said Grant. "And a threat for you to take down."
"You have all of that in Star City," pointed out Fury. She had hardly noted Grace sulking back. Despite all the girl had experienced in Gotham, she was still afraid of somebody like Grant Wilson. To be fair, Grant was resourceful enough to somehow acquire tenth metal and then forge it into a sword. Tenth metal was the purest form of creation and had reality altering powers. If Grant had acquired enough of it to create a sword, then it was apparent that the sword of his was giving him some degree of clairvoyance. He had known somebody would come to his office this day, just not who or what it would be.
"Yes, in fact one ally whom I think would be of good help is Hector Hall," said Grant.
"The Silver Scarab?" whispered Grace.
"You know of him?" asked Grant and while Grace nodded, Fury curtly shook her head. "Hector Hall is one my best field commanders in the Ravagers. By the grace of the Nth Metal armour he wears, he has come to be known as the Silver Scarab."
"He was a tomb raider once," said Grace. "Worked with Kendra Saunders and Khalil Ben-Hassin for the World Army."
"Then he defected because he saw the beauty in my vision," said Grant. "In my Star City, only the strong survive. They teach their children how to be strong. We're not a race diluted by transfats here. In my Star City, we breed men like the Silver Scarab. If we had men like that in the Apokolips War, we would have won it earlier."
"Perhaps you would have."
"Instead, we relied on an alien from an unknown world," said Grant, shaking his head. "Where's Superman now? Oh right, his legacy bastardized by a pretender on the new Justice Society."
"Tell me one thing, Grant," said Fury. "In your world of survival, what happens to the brains? Who scavenges science?"
"You act like the two do not go hand in hand," said Grant. "Aside from me and Hector Hall, the strongest person in my city is Rex Tyler. He may be weaker than the rest in this city, but even you two would not defeat him."
"I will be the judge of that," said Fury.
Who do Fury and Grace approach first?
