Chapter 3 by Kisara-ST Kisara-ST

What's next?

Short Story: Blessing in Disguise

It was a cold night. Too cold to stay outside for most people, especially when there's a party full of excited and energetic college students going on inside the massive building. But a timid-looking redhead wearing a simple jacket and jeans didn't seem to mind, braving the dark gardens with a bottle of beer in hand to find a place to relax and stargaze. In the deadest of night, the gardens appeared massive and would be quite intimidating for most people. But it was perfect for her, no one would be looking for her here.

Kayla always had a hard time with crowds of people, and only came because some college classmates dragged her here in order to 'help her socialise'. She humoured them for a short while and took the opportunity as they started to get wasted to slip away. She prefered peace and quietness, and found an old wooden bench to enjoy the night breeze.

Unfortunately, her peacefulness was interrupted by footsteps approaching. Raising her head, Kayla noticed a girl from the party. She remembered her due to how much she stood out. She was wearing a tight corset enhancing her already generous chest, denim shorts leaving little to imagination, and ripped fishnet stockings. This coupled with her flowy raven hair and pale makeup made her look like a vampire you'd see in teenage romance movies. But she was just a goth girl. An admittedly very hot goth girl.

“I see that I'm not the only one this party started to bore.” The goth girl said with a friendly smile. “Mind if I sit here?”

Kayla shyly nodded and moved to give her more space. “S-sure, go ahead.”

“Thanks~ I'm Priscilla, what's your name, cutie~?” Priscilla asked, her smile becoming more flirty.

“I'm... I'm Kayla.” She replied, avoiding Priscilla's gaze.

She took a sip of her beer but almost gagged and stuck out her tongue in disgust. It tasted terrible. Kayla never had **** before, but she felt like trying tonight. She wouldn't try again anytime soon.

“Cute name, Kayla~ What are you studying?”

“Hmm... Literature…” Kayla timidly answered.

“Oh, nice. I'm in Biology.” Priscilla said. “Considering you're here instead of dancing and getting drunk with the rest, I'm going to assume parties aren't your thing?”

Kayla shook her head and looked at her feet. “N-no, not really. I'm... kind of a loner. I-I only came because some classmates pressured me.”

Instead of mockery or incomprehension for her statement like she sometimes faced, Kayla was met with a soft chuckle from Priscilla.

“Ehh, I get you. I used to be a lone wolf too, a long time ago. But it's nice to try new things. You only have one life, you should make the most of it, you know? Experiment with new hobbies, taste new foods... meet new people~” Priscilla added this last part while winking at Kayla.

It made Kayla blush. Priscilla was... intriguing. She was oozing confidence, she had to in order to dress like this, considering she would hardly be able to walk anywhere unnoticed. But unlike some of the bullies Kayla met back in school, she appeared genuine and kind.

“M-maybe... I know I... need to get better. But it's hard…” Kayla admitted.

Priscilla's hand rested on Kayla's thick thigh, caressing her gently. Kayla didn't protest.

“It is when you don't have anyone you can count on. I was only able to truly change after meeting someone who helped me and supported me. She helped me be... reborn as a new, better version of myself.” The tone of Priscilla's voice showed she truly seemed to care about and respect this woman she mentioned.

Kayla clenched her fists tightly, to the point of even starting to shiver. “F-for me, it's... it's the opposite... I... I recently met someone who... changed me for the worse... I've been struggling to cope with what he's done…”

Priscilla, surprised by Kayla's reaction, pulled her into a hug, shushing her softly. “It's okay, cutie. You don't have to talk about it if it hurts so much.”

Kayla didn't dislike the gesture. In fact, she quite liked it. Priscilla smelled really good, her flowery perfume was sweet and enticing. In her arms, she felt... safe. But she also felt something else, something more... primal, awakening within her.

She quickly broke free from the hug and got up, her eyes wide open and betraying fear and anxiety. Priscilla didn't understand what could have caused such a reaction.

“Did I do anything to make you uncomfortable?” She asked.

“N-no. Y-you're been... really nice, but I... I need to go... I shouldn't stay here…” Kayla said, her breath becoming more hectic.

Priscilla noticed how her pupils were starting to dilate, as if she was having a panic attack or something.

She stood up and took Kayla's hand in hers. “Hey, it's okay. I don't know what's happening, but if you need anything, tell me.”

Kayla didn't reply, her breathing getting even faster and heavier. A strong cold wind blew, raising dirt and dead leaves from the ground and forcing Priscilla to cover her eyes. When she lowered her arm, Kayla was nowhere to be seen.

“What the…?” She muttered, looking around.

Despite the surrounding darkness, Priscilla noticed footprints on the ground, and decided to follow them, determined to get to the bottom of this. The music from the party slowly faded, and the only sounds Priscilla could hear were her own footsteps, dirt and dead leaves cracking under her massive platform boots, and owls hooting in the trees. Occasionally, the chilling wind would rise again and dogs would be heard barking in the distance.

Most people would be terrified or at least nervous to wander alone in such a decor, but Priscilla was calm, completely unperturbed, as if she was in her element.

It took her some time, but she finally found Kayla, crouching behind a tree, tears rolling down her cheeks.

Hearing noises, Kayla rose her head, her eyes widening when she saw Priscilla. "W-why are you here...?"

“I'm here for you.” Priscilla knelt next to her, placing a hand on Kayla's shoulder. "Please, tell me what's wrong. I hate seeing cuties like you cry, you know?"

"G-go away... N-now..." Kayla muttered, her face buried in her arms.

Instead of leaving, Priscilla gave Kayla another hug. "I'm quite stubborn, so no, I'm not leaving. Not until I know what's going on with you.”

Kayla froze, her face against Priscilla's neck. Against her soft, tempting neck... Her mouth slowly opened, revealing sharp fangs as she salivated. She couldn't control herself anymore. She had to taste her...

But something unexpected happened right as she finally gave in and bit Priscilla's neck. A sharp pain in her stomach flared up. She withdrew, staring in Priscilla's eyes, each girl as confused as the other. Kayla then glanced down, gasping as she saw sharp, bony protrusions coming out of Priscilla's fingertips. The wounds in her stomach immediately closed, as if it never happened, but these alien-looking appendages were proof it was real…

What the hell is this?! Kayla thought, stunned and even scared, understanding that the person in front of her wasn't a human like she first thought.

Priscilla, meanwhile, went to touch her neck, feeling drops of blood where she's been bitten, as she observed Kayla's fully visible fangs and her slightly bloody lips. She then started to laugh, taking Kayla aback.

"Oh god, that's hilarious. So you're a bloodsucker, huh?" Priscilla said, way too relaxed considering Kayla's attempt at biting her. "First time I'm meeting one of your kind."

"W-what are you?"

Priscilla smiled, her protrusions retracting inside her fingers, leaving no visible trace of their existence. "A skinwalker. Ever heard of us?"

Kayla tilted her head. "A... skinwalker? Like... Like the Native American legends?"

It was the only info Kayla had on skinwalkers. Monsters wearing human skins and hiding among people. Until recently, she wasn't that much into mythological creatures despite loving literature.

It made Priscilla chuckle. "Heh, kinda. Although less bloody and deadly. We just turn people into hollow skins and wear them for a time to live their lives until we get bored. Then we bring them back to normal, none the wiser and with altered memories if we don't want them to know some of the things we did as them."

"You... You wanted to… wear me...?" Kayla then asked slowly, realising what had transpired.

Priscilla, or whoever this skinwalker truly was, scratched her head awkwardly. "I just wanted to know what was on your mind. I was being honest when I said I disliked seeing cute girls cry, ya know?" As Kayla didn't reply, Priscilla came closer and continued. "With the way you've been acting, I can assume you've been cursed recently, hmm?"

Kayla nodded, not seeing any reason to lie. She needed to get it off her chest. "Y-yes... It was... two days ago... With a friend, we went to watch that new movie every girl had been talking about recently."

"The one with the vampire and the werewolf almost all teenage girls have a crush on?" Priscilla asked. "Twilight or something?"

Kayla let out a rueful chuckle. "Ironic, isn't it? I was returning home, alone, when I was accosted by a pale young-looking man. He seemed nice at first… escorting me back to the dorms, but… once there, he… he fed on me… and turned me into a vampire before disappearing..." She explained, shivering again. "I've... I've tried my best to resist, but I'm... I'm so thirsty..."

"You fed on someone since you got turned?" Priscilla inquired.

Kayla grit her teeth. "I... I don't want to... feed on anyone…”

Priscilla gave her a compassionate smile, caressing Kayla's cheek. "Most of us don't choose to be cursed, cutie, but as long as you don't kill anyone, you shouldn't resist your urges. It'll only end up hurting you and driving you insane." She then laughed. "And with how popular vampires are nowadays, I'm sure you could easily find some willing humans to drink from."

It did seem to cheer Kayla up slightly, her lips curling upwards for a brief instant. "M-maybe... I'm just... lost..."

"Well, I don't have much experience with vampires, but I'm here for you if you want someone to talk to about your troubles."

"Thanks..."

“No problem.”

The two girls didn't speak, leaning on each other and enjoying the atmosphere together. It was dark, but quiet and peaceful, just as Kayla liked it. And besides, she could easily see in the obscurity now, so it didn't bother her either. In fact, it was the opposite, it helped her relax even more.

After a while, Priscilla spoke. "If you're careful, I could let you feed on me for tonight." She declared, stunning Kayla.

"W-what? W-what if I end up making you a vampire?”

It made Priscilla snicker. "It's not like I can be cursed twice. I have nothing to worry about, and neither does Priscilla as long as I am her. Besides, from what I've heard, you need to will it to turn someone while feeding.”

Kayla looked expectantly at Priscilla, fidgeting with her fingers. "Can I... Can I really feed on you...?

Priscilla grinned. "You can, but it's not going to be free~"

"Huh? I... I don't have much money..."

Priscilla's hand went to grab Kayla's chin, locking eyes with her while licking her lips. "Who said anything about money, cutie? You could repay me with your body~"

Kayla's face turned as red as a tomato, taken aback yet again. "I-I..."

She tried to speak, but couldn't form a coherent sentence, flabbergasted by Priscilla's bold statement. How could she not? Priscilla was stunningly beautiful. Anyone would kill to be in Kayla's place, being flirted with by such a hot woman. She was even making Kayla reconsider her own sexuality, she who always thought she was straight.

"Shh, you've been through a lot, and I know the perfect way to evacuate all of that stress~" Priscilla whispered in Kayla's ear before giving her a warm, loving smile. “Trust me, you won't regret it~”

Staring into Priscilla's eyes, Kayla couldn't move. Her eyes were like emeralds shining under the pale moonlight, a verdant green reminding Kayla of the calm countryside she hailed from. She was mesmerised by them, lost in them.

Even knowing Priscilla was a monster underneath this skin, all Kayla could see was tenderness and lust on her face. Priscilla wasn't trying to trick her. She was genuinely caring for her, and truly wanted her. Something else was building up inside Kayla besides her thirst for blood…

“O-okay… I-I accept.” Kayla quietly spoke. “Let's… return to my dorm.”

"No need, nobody is going to look for us here~” Priscilla announced while glancing around.

They were in the middle of a very bushy part of the garden, filled with foliage and trees to hide them from the walkway further down. And the absence of any source of light besides the moon only helped cover their presence even better.

On that, and before Kayla could even say anything else, Priscilla pressed her lips against hers. She was stunned, not expecting to be kissed. She had a boyfriend once, and they kissed a few times, but she barely had any experience with romance.

"I'll make you feel real good, cutie~ Just relax and let me take care of you~" Priscilla confidently declared before kissing Kayla again, pushing her onto the grass and topping her.

Kayla closed her eyes and let Priscilla guide her, savouring the passionate kiss. Priscilla's lips tasted like grapes, it wasn't a flavor Kayla disliked. Their tongues met and danced with each other while Priscilla's hands started to caress Kayla's back, her fingers touching Kayla's unnaturally cold skin. For the first time since this dreadful night, Kayla felt warmth, in her mouth, on her skin, and even within her lower abdomen.

Priscilla then went further down with her hands, slithering underneath Kayla's jeans and squeezing her voluptuous ass, sending shivers of pleasure through Kayla's body and making her moan inside Priscilla's mouth.

Kayla never went that far with her previous boyfriend, limiting themselves to basic kisses. But deep down, Kayla did crave being held and desired, even if her shyness always prevented her from seeking more. Now, though, she had someone caressing her curves, lovingly and tenderly unravelling every inch of her touch-starved body. It was turning her on like crazy.

She may have been inexperienced and clumsy, but Kayla tried to reciprocate the gesture, her hands finding themselves on Priscilla's wide hips, her fingers brushing against her pale and warm skin. She hadn't felt this aroused and excited in such a long time.

The two of them went at it for a while, their lust building up more and more, until Priscilla took the next step, unzipping Kayla's jeans and slipping a hand inside her already drenched panties.

“For me to have such an effect so fast, you must have been pent-up for a while, right~?”

With a finger, Priscilla teased Kayla's pussy, slowly searching for her clit, all the while Kayla did her best to not let out a loud moan. She failed when her sensitive spot was finally found, her moan echoing into the otherwise silent night. Kayla wasn't completely pure, she did masturbate a few times, but being pleasured by someone else, it was so different… So much better… Even if she never expected her first time to be with another girl, she couldn't deny loving every second of it so far.

Priscilla's lustful grin widened, satisfied by Kayla's reaction. “Enjoying it~?” Kayla moaning again was the answer Priscilla was looking for. “Since you're such a good girl, I will offer you the sweet release you've been waiting for~”

Priscilla slipped two fingers inside Kayla's wet slit, her walls parting ways as she was penetrated. She squirmed with delight, her body tensing even more. Priscilla was skilled, clearly having had a lot of experience in the past. Her fingers gracefully moved in rhythm, eliciting even more cute moans from Kayla.

Priscilla loved seeing Kayla's blissful face, it was a sign she was doing a great job~ She hurried her pace, Kayla gripping the grass and dirt around her as the intense pleasure coursed throughout her body.

“Aaaaaah~!” Kayla finally screamed, reaching her first orgasm, her mind blanking in ecstasy. She felt so wonderful, the lust making her temporarily forget all her worries.

Priscilla licked her fingers coated in Kayla's love nectar, sucking on them sensually. “You taste so sweet~”

Kayla would have been fine stopping here, but Priscilla then fully removed Kayla's sneakers and jeans, before stripping out of her boots and shorts. Priscilla was far from done yet…

“Are you ready for round two~?” She asked, her grin widening as she showed Kayla her soaked lace thong. Some of her juice was leaking down her delicious-looking thighs. “I'm in need of some relief myself now~”

“H-how so?” Kayla shyly asked.

“You heard of scissoring, cutie~?”

“S-scissoring?” Kayla repeated, tilting her head.

She might have heard of the term a handful of times in the past, but was far too pure and innocent to know what it was about.

“Let me show you, then~” Priscilla made such a lewd expression as she said that.

She held Kayla's ankle firmly but gently, raising it up, and positioned herself in front of her, their pussies facing each other. Kayla quickly understood what scissoring meant now that they were in that position, and her face turned a crimson shade of red. Deep down, though, she was excited. She just didn't know how to express it.

“You'll love it, trust me~”

After saying that, both their pussy lips came into contact with one another. Their love nectar mixed as they moaned in unison. Priscilla led the charge, far more experienced than Kayla. Their lips slid over each other in rhythm, Kayla drowning in pleasure as she had her first time as a lesbian. Her brain was overloaded with sensations.

“Keep it up, I'm pretty close too~” Priscilla whispered, her voice so soft yet full of lust.

Finally, Kayla reached her second orgasm, squealing even more loudly than during the first. She was on cloud nine, breathing slowly as her mind was rebooting. Priscilla came too, screaming into the night as all her pent-up lust was finally released. With her remaining strength, she hugged Kayla, falling on top of her.

“Ahhh… That was great…~” Priscilla mustered before presenting her neck to a Kayla metaphorically returning to the land of the living. “Now, go on~ You can get your reward for being a good girl~”

It was like something snapped in Kayla as soon as she got permission. She swiftly bit into Priscilla's tender neck, filling her throat with this warm liquid she now depended on. Everything suddenly seemed so much more intense, she could hear the quietest of breeze, the smell from Priscilla's perfume was even more enticing than before, and she saw her with perfect clarity. Never in her life has she felt so incredible and full of energy.

So, that's how it feels to drink blood? She thought, amazed. She could see why some vampires would become addicted to this feeling. She hoped she was strong enough to resist it and not **** it, though.

The two girls laid on the grass. Kayla's hand found her way towards Priscilla's, holding her gently while staring at the starry sky. Priscilla was limp, her eyes closed as she slowly regained her senses after having her blood drained from her neck. It wasn't painful, but her body didn't respond to her.

Priscilla chuckled, taking slow and deep breaths. “I take you've liked tonight's experience~?

Licking her lips and swallowing the last drops of blood, Kayla replied, sighing softly. “Yes… Thank you, Priscilla… for everything…”

“You're welcome, cutie~ Having my blood drained… didn't feel so bad either. But I won't make it a daily thing. I can barely move.”

“Sorry about that…”

“Don't be, you were adorable~” Priscilla laughed quietly, placing her hands underneath her head to lay more comfortably “I just… need to rest a bit.”

Kayla smiled, turning to her side and resting her head on her fist. “Take your time.”

After a while, Priscilla tried to stand up, wobbling due to the blood loss and having to rest against the tree. She looked even paler than usual, her head spinning. She would definitely not let anyone do this to her again anytime soon.

“I should return to the party. Someone will pick me up.” Priscilla spoke weakly as she did her best to get dressed again.

Kayla quickly held her arm, helping her stay up. “Let me escort you back. You can barely stay up.”

Priscilla didn't protest, smiling. “You're such a kind soul. Really makes me want to find the asshole who did this to you and give him a thorough punishment.”

“Don't… I-I don't want you to risk your life for me…” Kayla replied quietly.

“Are you sure? I’d be able to track him down.”

“I-I can't say I'm fine yet, but I… I met you thanks to him, at least.” She admitted, her cheeks reddening.

"Priscilla, you here?" A male voice could be heard further away as they were approaching the student dorms.

Priscilla groaned and painfully dragged Kayla behind some bushes, placing a finger on her lips. "Don't speak. It's just Adam, my skin's boyfriend. He'll go away soon."

"Priscilla?" Adam asked one more time. His footsteps could be heard resonating on the walkway's pavements as he searched for her for a few more minutes. “I guess she left without telling me..." He finally muttered, dejected, as he walked away.

"W-why did you hide from him?" Kayla asked once they were fully alone again.

Priscilla sighed. "He's not a bad guy, but he's too clingy. I needed some space. And he probably just wanted to fuck, something I can do with him whenever I want. I greatly prefer your company over his~” She then said, caressing Kayla's cheek gently.

A few minutes passed in silence before Kayla spoke again, a bit more shyly. “By the way… Priscilla isn't your real name, right?”

“Nah, she's just my current identity. I became her two months ago already. It's been a fun ride so far, despite the clingy boyfriend. At least he's good in bed~” Kayla blushed and looked away, making Priscilla giggle. “What? I told you, you only live once and should make the most of it~”

“May I… know your real name?” Kayla asked after regaining her composure, curious to learn more about the being who helped her so much.

“Names tend to not hold much significance for beings who can be anyone they'd like. I am currently Priscilla, that's who people see me as and what they call me.”

“But you were human too, before, no?”

“I was, yes, long before you were born. Alright, if you're so curious, I can tell you my real name, but only because you're so cute~” Priscilla said, rising up and leaning closer. She gave Kayla a gentle kiss and grinned while bowing at her. “You may call me Minh~”

“Minh?”

Priscilla, or Minh, chuckled. “Weird name, I know. Used to be a common name for boys in Vietnam when I was born.”

“B-boys?” Kayla repeated, stunned. “You're… a boy?”

Kayla’s reaction made Minh giggle. “Why so surprised? Genders are meaningless for skinwalkers.”

“I… I just didn't expect it…” Kayla admitted timidly, looking away.

Minh just laughed. He, or currently she, found Kayla's reaction adorable, even if predictable. It wasn't the first time she revealed her identity to someone ever since she first became a skinwalker and they always had the same reaction.

Now that Kayla knew the one being Priscilla used to be a man, she couldn't help but observe her under a different light. Her laugh, her posture, everything about her screamed femininity and sensuality, so it was hard to imagine how she used to be like. No one in their right mind would ever even entertain the thought of Priscilla to have been a man, and it certainly never crossed Kayla's mind until Minh admitted it. Skinwalkers were really good at imitating people, it seemed.

The rest of the walk went by silently. Minh was slowly regaining her strength, but she still was unable to walk properly, especially in such chunky boots. Kayla kept holding her close, letting Minh lean on her shoulder. They found themselves sitting on the bench they met at earlier.

“So, how are you feeling, cutie?” Minh asked, her hand resting on Kayla's thigh.

Kayla leaned closer and kissed her cheek shyly but tenderly. “Much better.” She then looked at the sky. “I'm… not sure how long it's going to take for me to get used to my new life, but I… I'm no longer hating myself, at least.”

“As I said before, it isn't the kind of change you should be facing alone. Know that I'm here if you need someone to confide in.” Minh said, smiling warmly at her.

“Thank you, Minh. I'm… I'm glad to have come here… I was able to meet you…”

“Same~ I was planning to dance and drink all night, but as soon as my eyes landed on you, I knew I wanted to get to know you better~”

“H-huh? Why?” Kayla asked, surprised.

“Because you seemed like you didn't fit. You were nervous. I wanted to help you feel at ease. And you are cute~” Minh replied, her flirty grin back.

Kayla blushed yet again. Minh’s beautiful smile never failed to have an effect on her.

Minh's phone buzzed, and she sighed when she looked at it. “I need to go, my ride's here.”

“Will… Will we see each other again?” Kayla wondered, worry clear in her voice.

“We will, cutie, don't you worry about that~” Minh got up, slowly and using the top of the bench as support. “Be careful on your way home.” She said, waving at her.

“Y-you too.” Kayla replied softly, fixated on Minh's stunning silhouette walking into the darkness and disappearing behind the imposing building.

Kayla couldn't help but have a melancholic smile. She already fell under Minh's charm. She wanted to know her better, to stay with her more. She was a monster, but she's been so kind, so gentle to her. Most humans didn't treat her that well. Spending time with this quirky and lustful being truly helped her reconsider her situation. She had hopes now, her future wasn't so bleak anymore.

It had been a week since that fateful night and encounter with Minh. Kayla was laying on her bed, waiting for the sun to set so she could leave. It really sucked that she could no longer get out during the day. It wasn't like she would die immediately, but she felt so weak and uncomfortable when outside under the sun. She had to fully cover her body from head to toe if she wanted to get out. As such, she rarely went to class.

She was listening to some music and reading a novel, trying to fight the boredom she felt from being locked up in her room. She could feel her thirst slowly returning, but it was manageable for now.

She then heard a knock on the door, surprising her as she wasn't expecting anyone tonight. She got up and opened the door, revealing a cute blonde girl with a box of pizza in hands.

“C-can I help you?” Kayla asked, confused.

The blonde grinned a familiar grin. “I'm sure you can, cutie~”

These words and this expression made Kayla understand who was in front of her. “Minh?”

“I told you we'd see each other again~”
