Shopping with Gem

It was Saturday morning on the last day of Freshers Week, I hadn't gone out clubbing or to the party's as much as I thought I would during the week. Turns out that most of the events that were being run you needed tickets for and they had sold out before I had even realised. The end of Freshers Party though was tonight and I, and probably everyone else on campus, had a ticket. Despite everything that had happened to me since moving to uni I had still failed to lose my virginity, despite saying it didn't really bother me it was becoming frustrating. I mean Freshers week is meant to be the most sexed-up week of the year and while I had seen some pretty hot action I hadn't quite lost the V card yet. Tonight was my last shot before uni list started properly and I wasn't going to let it go to waste. With that in mind, I had agreed to Gem's idea of taking me shopping today. Best to get a girls opinion if they are who I wanted to impress I figured, even if Gem was gay she was bound to have a better idea than myself.

**BANG BANG**

Gem: 'Stop jerking off in there and let's go! bus leaves in 10!'

She actually wasn't far from the truth, in reality, I had just been teasing the idea of cracking a quick one-off as we hadn't actually said when we were going. Guess that we were leaving now.

Me: 'Alright Gem! Just putting shoes on!'

As I step out into the corridor I see Gem stop there impatiently.

Gem: 'yeah if that what your wearing into town we really do have some work to do'

Me: 'what's wrong with this?'

Gem: 'well most people don't wear a t-shirt from a sports competition they did 5+ years ago still'

Me: 'Ok point taken'

Gem: 'Right let's go before we miss the bus'

We managed to catch the bus just in time, the journey always takes much longer than you would have thought but you have come to expect that traffic just moved this slow in a major city all the time. By the time we got into town, it was nearly lunch and caught up properly over a McDonalds, it was Gem's choice.

Gem: 'sorry for stealing your girl by the way'

Me: 'What do you mean?'

Gem: 'you know converting Laura to my side'

Me: 'haha I had forgotten about that actually'

Gem: 'Glad you didn't mind, was worried you would be annoyed'

Me: 'no, it's not like I have a claim to her. Besides I am pretty sure she only made out with me because we were both drunk'

Gem: 'Wouldn't be so sure, she certainly told me she thought you were good looking'

Me: 'Really? Oh well, plenty more fish you know. Not sure we would have really made a good fit as well'

Gem: 'oh stop being a gentleman, you are allowed to just have some fun without going down on one knee'

Me: 'so is that what you two were doing?'

Gem: 'Hey she wanted to see what it was like with another girl, I was more than happy to oblige haha'

Me: 'so....'

Gem: 'So know we are not in a relationship and I don't know if we will do it again, but she already came back once so maybe she realised my skills are better than her usual tastes'

Me: 'Haha just try not to wake the other when she does, pretty sure I will get the blame'

Gem: 'Well if you want to actually make some noise with another girl we had better get you those new clothes'

We finished with our food and headed out into the shops. Now I'm not saying shopping with Gem was like shopping with my mum when I was a kid because it wasn't. Yes, I was just following her around carrying clothes while feeling bored but the main difference was all these clothes were way more expensive. Luckily most shops were doing student discount but still, this was actually gonna be my own money I was spending.

I was trying on some of the clothes Gem had given me in the what felt like 100th shop. I may not be a shopaholic but I did like to think I could tell what I looked good in and what I didn't, and if I am being honest I could tell Gem had a good eye for this stuff as nearly all the items she chose suited me. I just had to convince her to get something more in my price range. I was in the middle of trying som dark navy chino's and when my phone pinged with a new message.
