Chapter 12 by nakedkorra

She takes the advice and tries staying naked outside.

Biting her lip, Vanessa placed the lamp on top of the locked box and moved towards the garage entrance. Once outside, she took her time closing the door and ensuring it was locked. She kept her back to the street, not wanting to know if anyone was looking. When she was finished, she steeled herself and turned around.

There was nobody there. Just her front lawn, and the street beyond. She ran her hands up and down her bare hips nervously, wondering what on earth was possessing her to even consider this...

She moved onto the lawn, the grass tickling her bare soles. She waited there a few moments, her toes curling in the dirt and she nervously waited for somebody to pass by. Maybe, if just one person saw her, that would rid her of this sudden urge she felt to explore this world naked. Just one person to cry out, to ask her what she was doing, or to gawp at her wide-eyed.

Finally, she stepped out onto the sidewalk, the concrete hard and rough beneath her feet. From here she could see other houses, see the street and the cars parked on them. She looked both ways, waiting to see somebody.

"Hey Vanessa!" a boy's voice called out.

She froze, her hands clenched in fists at her side. Slowly she turned towards the source of the voice. It was the boy from earlier, the one who was fixing his bike beneath her window. He was sitting in the saddle now, straightening out his helmet.

"H-hey." Vanessa replied.

"You okay? You look a little tense."

"Well... why wouldn't I be? I mean, what I'm doing right now, it's not normal, is it?"

"I don't know what you mean." The boy replied with a chuckle. "I don't think standing in the street is a weird thing to be doing."

Vanessa felt relieved that the genie was telling the truth. "So, how come you're not naked?" she asked rather boldly.

"Mom said I can't try it until I'm eighteen." he replied with a shrug. "I don't get what the big deal is. Anyway, probably not comfortable to ride a bike with all your bits hanging out, right?"

"Right." Vanessa said with a chuckle.

"Anyway, take care neighbour!" he said before cycling away.

Well, that's good news. Vanessa thought to herself. Maybe I should try venturing further afield...?

The sight of the boy on his bike gave her an idea. She'd seen her bike in the garage; she hadn't ridden it for a year, maybe two. Perhaps it was time to dust the old girl off...
