“Oh, hello! I’m sorry I didn’t notice you,” she starts. Wow, her voice is so soft and gentle. It’s not at all like you’d expect from someone practicing martial arts, but it matches her graceful appearance perfectly. “Are you looking to sign up for… hmm?” She squints at you for a few seconds, then runs over to examine you more closely. “Long, raven-black hair… delicately pale complexion… Quite short, yet breasts large enough to, um…”

Th-This isn’t how most people react to meeting someone new. You sweat under the sudden examination, but allow her to continue.

“You must be Emilia!”

“Huh? You know me?” you ask, tilting your head inquisitively.

“I do. Master Kim has said a lot about you. She says you’re going to become a very strong trainer. And that you’re really brave! …And some other things.”

You frown. “What other things?”

“Oh, well, you know… Stuff like, ‘She has no defense against molesters,’ and, ‘She and her friend couldn’t outrun a snail.’” Yeah, that sounds like Master Kim. “B-But that’s not what’s important. Receiving praise from Master Kim is a significant event!”

“Thanks!” you say, grinning from ear to ear. It’s important for a classy lady to remain modest in moments like these. Still, knowing you left such an impression has you feeling a bit giddy.

“You know, umm…” She looks at the floor, pressing her fingers together cutely. “I’d be honored if you’d have a pokemon battle with me. Even though we just met, I’ve wanted to battle you for some time now. So, could we-”

Steam puffs from your nostrils. “Yes! Absolutely! Let’s battle now!” She’s so freakin’ adorable! “Just one question. What’s your name?”

“Oh, how rude of me. I’m sorry. My name’s Charlotte. I’m a student of Master Kim! I’m still a novice, so thank you for taking the time to help me improve.” She flashes a big, open-mouthed smile at you.
