She hears about a wizard

While the board didn't have anything interesting to Venus, she could hear two other hunters talking about something that sounded interesting and very lucrative. Venus wasn't poor, but her hunt for Lycoan had drained most of her resources and occasionally she needed to take jobs to get some extra cash. This might be her best opportunity. She made her way closer trying to listen in.

The pair were human woman and a dwarf, and the girl who looked like she was in her early twenties was talking about a bill she had just gotten off the board. The dwarf was shaking his head uncertainly as he listened.

"This could be our chance to make a name for ourselves Gris! A powerful wizard worth this much will definitely draw attention."

"Inga, you need to slow down lass. This wizard's been making powerful golems and using them to raid the villages near his tower. Even with your magic and my blades we can't take down several golems on our own."

"Grisly Grump!"

"Stop calling me that, my name is Grisly Garren and you know it."

The girl stuck her tongue out and again called him "Grisly Grump." Venus was trying not to smile as she approached the table.

"I'm sorry, but I couldn't help overhearing you. A powerful wizard who controls golems would be a problem. Golems, especially larger ones,
are naturally resistant to most magics since it takes powerful magic just to create one. A pair of Hunters might not be able to take on the challenge, but maybe three could?"

Grisly had been eyeing Venus up and down, clearly aware of her title as the Beast Tracker, while Inga's eyes had grown quite large in awe. After Venus finished speaking Gris nodded slowly.

"Aye, a three man team could do well. Inga in the rear casting offensive magic while we take the fight directly to the golems. And with two of us we can outmaneuver them and search for the golem's activation stone."

The activation stone was the small stone somewhere in the golem's body with a magic rune carved into it. This stone was the life **** of the golem, holding it together and keeping it bound to its master. Destroying this stone would kill the golem.

"We could really do this with you by our side miss Venus," said Inga. Venus gave the older woman a smile.

"Please just call me Venus. It would be my pleasure to join you. I haven't worked with a team for a while so I think it would be nice having company for a change. You two found the bill so I'll gladly leave you two in charge. When do we set out?"

Inga started to say something, but Gris raised a hand and stopped her.

"We'll leave in the morning, that way we have time to prepare. It will be an honor having you by our side Venus. Inga, I'll be in my room if you need me."

Grisly gave Venus another look up and down before hopping off his stool and heading up the stairs. Inga shook her head sadly.

"Grisly Grump. He's a good guy, but he doesn't really like working with others. Especially women like us. Says we're a distraction."

"But you two seem really close. I thought you were friends."

"Oh we are, but he normally doesn't let me take dangerous jobs with him. He doesn't want me getting hurt like his daughter did. Oh, I probably shouldn't have said that!"

"Don't worry Inga I wont say anything about it."

Venus knew that she should probably go to the market to gather some items like Alchemist's Fire and other offensive magical items, but if the dwarf was looking at her and Inga like potential trouble in the coming battle, maybe she should try to talk to him alone first?
