She goes to visit another professor

Before Byleth bolted for the doors, she caught sight of a letter she opened earlier in the day: it was from Hanneman - the monastery’s resident expert on all things related to crests - asking her to visit. She didn’t know what he wanted, but the chances that Kostas would come poking around Hanneman’s office, let alone the upper quarters, was slim-to-none. It seemed her best bet at the moment.

She bolted for the doors, quickly prying them apart to scan outside… … no sign of him.

She pried a bit further, sticking her head out to glance in either direction… … …she was safe, for now.

Before she set off however, Byleth agonized over exactly how she should get to Hanneman’s office: She could take the shorter route north of the Officers’ Academy, but that would take her past the training grounds… where Kostas had been known to frequent. Or, she could take the longer, southern path through the grand hall, and avoid the training grounds, but risk a higher chance of bumping into him if he happened to be wandering about. If only she knew what direction he came from…

The seconds ticked away, before Byleth decided to go...
