Chapter 39 by hewhoismany hewhoismany

What does Bathilda do?

She gets closer to Malfoy.

In the end, it wasn’t too much of a choice for Bathilda, not really. There was too much emotion wrapped up with Malfoy not to try going after him. Once the meal was over, and they headed back to the Slytherin Common Room, she noticed Malfoy was heading a different direction. Splitting from the rest of the group as well, she started following him, far enough behind that she didn’t think he’d notice. That was, until he suddenly turned around in an otherwise deserted hallway and asked, “What are you doing?” His voice was cool, but something dangerous lurked underneath. Bathilda was going to have to be careful with her response.

Luckily, this seemed to fall right in her skillset. She strode up to Malfoy, closing the distance, and making sure to put some extra sway to her steps. “Well, I’m not blind like everyone else, for one thing,” she started, rolling her eyes with condescension at the rest of their house. “You seem interesting, and I couldn’t help my curiosity in seeing what you were up to.” Then, Bathilda stepped closer, enough to invade Draco’s personal space and almost have her tits brush up against him. “You don’t mind if I tag along with you, right?” There was an unspoken addition to that request, one whose meaning was quite plain to the one it was directed towards: if you don’t let me come along, I’m going to let other people know you weren’t where you were supposed to be.

For the next few seconds, Draco looked at Bathilda with hostility and annoyance. There was conflict in his eyes, as though he really wasn’t sure what to do with Bathilda’s clear aid to join him in whatever it was he was doing. Finally, he turned away from her and continued walking down the corridor. “Follow me if you want,” was all he told her, without turning to look. With a smile, Bathilda did just that, staying a few strides behind him as they moved through the castle.

Draco seemed to have planned his route fairly well, as they didn’t run into any groups of students on the way. It wasn’t until they reached the right hallway that Bathilda realized where they were, and why Draco must have come there. Sure enough, they started moving back and forth through the hallway, and Bathilda’s mind was racing. For some reason, Draco was trying to use the Room of Requirement. Had he found out about it from last year’s issues with the DA? More importantly, was Bathilda just going to let him access it, or try to interfere with his request to the room?

What does Bathilda do about the room?
