Chapter 6 by LWeibull2 LWeibull2

What's next?

She flirts back

Dawn let out a surprised gasp as Robert's hand grazed her ass.

”It's good to see you too, Robert” she stammered.

Dawn blushed heavily and glanced over at Sandra and Jason. Luckily, the both of them were involved in a similarly hearty greeting and none of them were any wiser. Robert just gave her a complacent smile and pretended like nothing had happened. Who does something like that? What an old creep, she thought, and was getting second thoughts about the whole thing.

After greeting the hosts, Dawn and Jason went on to mingle with the other attendees in the garden. Dawn let her husband do most of the socializing while she just smiled, nodded along and helped herself to what was probably a few too many free glasses of chardonnay. After an hour or so of mingling, Sandra got up on a chair and gave a long speech about the all the important work at the local animal shelter and appealed to her guests to make a donation.

Dawn wasn't really listening. She found herself glancing in Robert's direction instead, and she caught him in the act of ogling her body from a distance. Their eyes met and he gave her another self-assured smile and raised his glass. Dawn **** herself to smile back at him and then emptied her own glass.

The moment was interrupted by Jason's buzzing phone.

”It's work,” he explained as he gave the display a quick glance.” I'm sorry, honey, but I have to take this.

He gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and ran off with the phone glued to his face. Dawn was suddenly by herself – though it didn't take long before Robert approached her.

”So your husband made a run for it?” he asked.

”He had to work as usual,” Dawn sighed and gave a him a shrug, ”Can you believe that guy?”

Robert shook his head in earnest. ”Well, to be honest, I was actually thinking about pulling the old work-card myself to dodge my wife's rousing speech. But that was before you arrived. Who in his right mind would abandon a beautiful woman like you in the middle of a party like that?”

Dawn swallowed nervously. It was probably now or never. Was she really going to do this?

”Then I guess the animals at the shelter owe me for making you stay at their event,” she joked. ”Though at the same time, I should probably be grateful to you for keeping me company,” she added and touched his arm.

Robert chuckled, ”I'll drink to that, sweetheart. Can I get you another drink by the way?”

”Yes please. Surprise me,” Dawn replied.

Robert nodded and went off to the bar.

He was back in no time with a glass of something that resembled a Long Island Iced Tea.

”I had a feeling you wanted something stiff,” he said and handed her the tall, frosty glass.

Dawn **** herself to smile at his lewd innuendo and had a taste of the cocktail. It was absolutely delicious. He was a great bartender at least, she had to give him that.

The two of them chatted for a while and Dawn actually started enjoying Robert's company a little more. Sure, he was a good bit older than she was and he was not exactly in shape. And he wasn't even trying to be discreet as he stared down her cleavage occasionally. There was just something about his rough charm and brazen self-confidence that she couldn't resist. Or maybe it was the booze talking. Either way, she found herself inching a little closer, unintentionally giving him a better view her cleavage, touching his arm again and even giggling at some of his bawdy remarks. He was trying to seduce her. Well, Dawn was letting him, and she had to admit that she was more excited than she had been in years.

Robert suddenly snapped his fingers, ”Damn. I just remembered that I was on my way to the basement to get another case of wine. I'd better take care of this before we run out. I'll be right back,” he assured.

”Unless you want to come with me and give me a hand,” he added.
