She doesn't see Manon

Marinette pushed to door open just wide enough to poke her head out. "Manon, are you out here?" Marinette didn't hear a reply. She bit down on her lip. "Manon?" She felt anxious. "Manon, this isn't funny. Where are you?" Admittedly, she shouldn't be as anxious as she felt. Manon was an adult herself, after all, but Marinette would never hear the end of it from Nadja Chamack if Manon went off on her own and got into trouble like she was wont to do. Even after all these years, Manon was still trying to get even just a smidge of the attention her mother paid her work, which was why Manon still even needed a babysitter in the first place. Too often, if left to her own devices, she'd wind up in danger (such as following her mother to the site of an ongoing akuma attack or police investigation) or potentially ruining her mother's interviews or reporting. If Manon already ran off in the time it took to get down there... Marinette grimaced, trying to call out to her again.

When she heard no reply, she decided to go do something she really didn't want to do. She felt her face heat up before she even did anything. She pushed the bakery door all the way open and took a few steps outside, using one hand to keep the door open. The cool night air washed over her body, and a shiver ran down her back. I can't believe I'm out here dressed like this, she thought, looking around. If she spotted anyone of her classmates, especially Chloe or Adrien, she would probably die of embarrassment... because Chloe was, well, Chloe - Queen of Mean, and all, she wouldn't let her live it down... and Adrien was Adrien, handsome dreamboat and love of her life. She didn't want him thinking she was the type of girl to just run around like this by choice... Thankfully, no one was around to see her like this. But she also didn't see Manon anywhere either... and that wasn't good. She hadn't checked around the corner, but if Manon was there, she would answer, right?

Marinette kept one hand on the door as she tried to get a peek around the corner. She could feel the pull in her arm's muscles as they stretch, but she was almost there. She could almost see around the corner, just a little farther... and she's there! Marinette peered around the corner to find...
