She decides against having another drink

Although she is extremely tempted to have some big gulps of vodka, Ellen regretfully abstains from drinking more **** at the moment. She continues her patrol for another half hour or so without any noteworthy incidents happening. Just before the end of her shift, she is called to a serious one-car accident on a deserted back road.

When Ellen arrives at the scene, several EMTs are loading a mangled body onto a stretcher. The dead driver is a once-beautiful woman in her late twenties. The dark-haired beauty is wearing a sexy bob cut, a tight black leather blouse with open top buttons, shiny new leopard pants and black platform shoes. Her car, a black older model Porsche, is wrapped around a massive oak tree. "Drunk as a skunk", one of the firemen clearing up the wreckage reports to Ellen and shows her the broken remnants of several champagne, beer and vodka bottles. "Probably an alcoholic. At least no innocent person was harmed."

Although Ellen has been waiting for her shift to end all day in anticipation of getting drunk, she doesn't touch her abundant liquor supply when she finally arrives home this night. Shivering, she hunkers down in bed and cries herself to sleep, vowing to go back to AA and get professional help in the morning.
