Matt's mom froze. "I'm sorry, I just can't do it."
"What?" Karen demanded. "I already explained that--"
"I just can't."
"I can call my mom," Amy offered. "I bet she'd be willing."
"Really?" Matt's mom asked. "I'd think--"
"She's got a major crush on Matt. Just wait, you'll see." She took out her phone.
