She can't handle the truth

You watch Lois as she surfs the internet, finding out that every word you said was the truth.

Finally, she ends up on the robo-sluts website itself, looking at herself, then quickly navigates away to a page full of reams of numbers. You look at the title shown on the browser: Modification Codes.

“I don’t want you to change,” you tell her.

A tear forms in her eye, and then she just turns off, the light in her eyes dimming. She sits there, all of her animation gone.

You touch her, but she doesn’t react. You realise she couldn’t handle the truth; she’s lost her whole planet just like Superman lost his, and it was too much for her. Maybe you should have lied.
Then Lois suddenly comes back to life, giving you a shock.

“Don’t worry, I’m still Lois,” she says, her voice soft, a smile on her face. “I’ve just upgraded. My old self left you a message. Do you want to hear it?”

You nod.

Suddenly Lois’s face changes, tears fill her eyes. “I’m sorry,” she begins. “All you did was tell me the truth. You deserve better than a Lois who’ll always compare you to Superman, always yearn for her dazzling Metropolis and a past that never was. I’m fixing things, for both of us, giving you a Lois who won’t remember the past, won’t be ruled by her programming. The Lois you deserve. Goodbye...”

“Are you okay?” the new Lois asks, the smile instantly returned to her face. “Do you want to hear the message again?”

You tell her no.

“Okay, message deleted. So, I’m kinda new in town. Want to show me the sights?”
