She calls you from the road and tells you she's pregnant

You weren't expecting to see Avril in person for quite awhile after the last time you left her, so the last thing on your mind was that she would call you from the road, even though she had promised to leave you tickets for a show sometime.

"Avril? Is that you?" you ask into the phone one night after you have been at home for a while, the work day over, and just about to go to bed when the phone startles you.

"John? Can you talk? Listen, I left you tickets in your box at the office to come see me, but I also need to tell you something," she tells you, before yelling at some one to close her dressing room door so she could hear you, "I'm pregnant, and it's yours."

"Avril, that's great," you tell her, hoping that she wasn't going to freak out about it as she continues to go on about it.

"Thank God this tour will be over before I'm showing," she tells you as she explains that she had been getting horrible morning sickness for a few days before someone convinced her to take a pregnancy test, "because it gives us time to figure things out."

"I'm on my way to your next show baby, let's talk about then," you tell her as you jot down where her next show was going to be and then go check your box for the tickets as you make arrangements to see her in the next town and plan your future together.
