Does he tell her his feelings or does he chicken out?
She Makes It Easy For Him
Knock Knock Knock
John opens the door to see Doe smiling and holding grocery bags. Her smile makes his heart melt and suddenly all of the words he wanted to say disappear from memory. Quickly gaining composure, he leads her to the kitchen and shows her where all the pots and pans are.
As Doe begins cooking, John opens a bottle of wine and pours a glass for both of them. Taking a deep breath, he tries to find the words he had played through his head earlier.
"Doe," he says, with a nervous quiver in his voice. "I need to tell you something. If I don't do it now, I'm afraid I never will."
Doe turns to him and chuckles. "That's funny, there is something I want to tell you. And if chick-flicks have taught me anything, it's that we want to say the same thing, but don't know how."
John bursts into laughter. "So, in that case, isn't this the point where the main characters would just share a look and end up kissing each other? ...Or at least trying before something comical prevents it?"
They both laughed, and at that point the noodles were finally ready and they served themselves dinner.
"I just want to say, I've never met a girl like you." John says as he pulls out the chair for Doe.
"I could say the same for you. Well, except that you're not a girl." She replies, turning around and laughing at him. "You prove that chivalry is not dead, sir."
As he sat down, he looked into her deep blue eyes and told her "I know we just met, but I think I'm falling for you. I know that probably sounds really weird, and I wouldn't be surprised if you threw your plate of spaghetti at me, but you're the perfect girl in my eyes." He blushed as he said this, and looked down at his plate.
Doe twirled her spaghetti on her fork, thinking of what to say. A quick comeback pops into her head. "What? And waste all of this perfectly good spaghetti?! Never!" They both laugh, and she continues. "Believe it or not, I know what you mean. You were the perfect gentleman. You don't know how scared I was alone on that road last night. I had no one to call, and feared for my life. Something about you, as you walked up to me make me feel safe. And everything else you did for me last night made me feel so much better. To be honest, unless there's something that I haven't seen, I would dare say that you are the perfect guy."
With that said, they continued talking about themselves on a more emotional level as they ate. They shared their fears and dreams, but eventually the conversation turned as they cleared the table.
"This has been so much fun" Doe said. "I don't want it to stop now."
"Well," John said with mock confidence in his voice as he turned to look at her. "You're more than welcome to stay the night."
