She Likes You

"Cause I like you, ya idiot." She gives you a warm smile, but you can see her cheeks flush a little more. Your heart starts to beat wildly. "I would have thought all that praise I gave you back in the tunnel would have tipped you off." Her grin widens. "Also, there was the oral sex. That should have tipped you off too."

"Yeah, well...I didn't know what to think, really..." You admit.

"I guess I can't really blame you. I've never really dropped any hints before." She shrugs as if it wasn't a big deal.

"So...when you say you 'like' me...?" You venture out, trying to make sure you understood what she meant.

"The kind of 'like' that ends up with me giving into my sexual desires on a carnival ride." She gives you an shy look. "Although, perhaps I should specify that the desires I gave into where my sexual feelings toward you." She starts to play with a strand of red hair subconsciously. "I missed you in Europe, Jack. I never realized how much I liked you until you weren't there every day." She places one hand on your chest. "I went on a few dates, but every guy paled in comparison to you."

"R-really?" You ask, your voice breaking a bit.

"And then I come back here and you treat me like the most important thing in the world. I don't think I could have convinced myself to not fall for you completely even if I had wanted to."

"I like you too." You say somewhat simply. You are still floored from all that's happening.

"I could tell from your physical reaction back there that you certainly weren't objecting to my advances." She laughs.

"Yeah, but it's more than that." You blurt out quickly. "I've had...feelings for you ever since I first stopped thinking of girls as cootie factories."

"Really? For so long?" Melody asks in surprise. You nod. Her cheeks flush crimson again. "Wow. That...that really makes me feel...good." She says, at a loss for words. "Like...almost vindicated, I guess?" She stammers on. "I mean, in high school you spent all your time drooling over the skinny blond cheerleaders like Tiffani Scarlette. I always felt a little jealous that you never drooled over your redheaded tomboy best friend."

"I did...just never when you could notice me." You smile. She smiles back.

"That's too bad...if I had known, we probably wouldn't have to wait so long...well, you know." She says coyly.

"What made you decide to go for it back there, if you didn't know I would reciprocate?" You ask.

"Like I said, the heat got to me. Although, to be honest, it wasn't completely out of the blue." She clears her throat. "I was planning to seduce you at some point during the trip."

"What, really?" You ask in aroused surprise.

"Like I said, this trip put me so head over heals. I felt I owed it to you to show you how much I appreciated not just this, but you." Her hand travels up from your chest to your cheek. "It wasn't supposed to be in an amusement park, but the heat shorted out my inhibitions." She grins. "It's good to know my attempts would be well-received." You both share a hearty laugh for a few seconds, then Melody puts her head on your shoulder.

"So...can we consider this a first date, then?" You put the idea out there.

"We better." The redhead scoffs. "I have never put out before a first date and I don't plan to start now."

"Good. I'd like that." You reply. You both sit there in a quiet, romantic silence, oblivious to the sounds of the park around you, relishing in the previously hidden emotions you are now finally sharing.

"I am still horny as fuck." Melody finally states.

"Yeah, me too." You agree.

"I've never put out twice on a first date before, either, but I'm okay with a change to that particular policy." She says.

"Shall we go back to the hotel?" You offer. Your best friend snorts.

"Fuck that. It's too far away." She says. "Is there anywhere we can go right now?" Your jaw hangs open in surprise. Melody always continues to surprise you.
