Setting

The story takes place in a small town in Iowa called Redwood. Redwood has miles and miles of farm land with a small town being their only source for groceries and small restaurants.

It’s home to small boutiques and local ma and pa shops with vendors outside selling fresh produce and ingredients. It generally has slow traffic but has a great boom during the summer with tourists and out of state visitors.

The McFarland Farm is the largest farm in the small area containing many acres of land. It features many animals from the usual chickens, pigs, cows, and horses. But also consists of some exotic animals like alpacas and an ostrich.

It has the main house as well as a coupe of small guest houses and a shed. It’s most famous for its big barbecue held every year where everyone in town is invited as well as often tourists who come for the cookout.
