"It would be a pleasure to have you join us at tonight's Sensuality Circle," Bernie's mom said to Lil over the phone. "Tonight there's also a special theme. We'll be working in pairs on sensual massage, and for those who want it, there will be some time to get everyone's hands on you. You might want to think about that before you decide whether to come."

"Oh," Lil said. "Massage, huh?" She looked at Bernie standing beside her at the lavatory sinks. "Sounds good to me!" She rolled her shoulders for Bernie's benefit.

Bernie smiled. She was holding the small paper shopping bags from 'Hot' that contained their purchases -- matching pairs of black underwear with red hearts circling the waistband.

"Okay then," Lil said to Joyce. "I want to go, and tonight sounds great."

"Good, Lillian, I'll be happy to see you," Joyce said over the phone.

Lillian handed back the cell phone to Bernie.

Bernie exchanged a few words with her mother. "Bye mom, love you," she said in parting.

"Wow," Lillian said. "I'm really gonna do it."

Bernie laughed.

"I'm done with shopping," Lillian said. "And it's too hot to just wander around. Where do you think we should go?
