What does he decide?
Seeking companionship
John frowned as he pulled himself out of bed. He had unlimited power at his fingertips but... he was bored. He could cure the world's ills as easily as sate his own desires but for the life of him, he couldn't decide what to do.
Lacking any definite direction, he grabbed his wallet, full as one would expect for a Los Angeles resident, threw on some clothes and set out for a wander.
John meandered through the city streets that were equally foreign and familiar at the same time, unable to solve his dilemma. He had the power to do anything, but he couldn't decide what he wanted to do with it. The accursed question looped indefinitely in his mind until his stomach growled intensely.
Luckily his travels had guided him to an eatery he frequented often enough for a good relationship with the staff, and soon was happily eating his fill as the tv filled the room with celebrity news and his problem faded into the background.
He perked up a bit as an ad for the new season of a popular scifi series aired. John had only the most basic knowledge of the plot, the last member of an alien race ricocheting around having adventures with his chosen human companion, but it was enough to solve his problem. He'd pick out a companion and they could come up with world bending shenanigans when he couldn't.
Satisfied with his decision he gave reality a random twist, deciding that whoever he encountered first upon leaving would be his new boredom buddy.
Though he hadn't expected to crash into the next person on his way out, knocking them both to the ground.
"Oh no!" A familiar voice exclaimed. "Are you all right?"
"Well you got me here," John said rubbing at his forehead. "And the ground got me back here." He poked sheepishly at the back of his head.
"Then I shall have to call you lumpy." His new companion said pulling him to his feet as he blinked the stars from his eyes to see a familiar face.
