Chapter 73 by Indirect
How about the others?
See off the inquisitors and the rest of the army
While Dame Lorridan, Sir Galren, Sir Karnton and Baronet Noviender were all planning to head off in their own directions after the last dinner the main body of the army is moving together to an inquisitorial stronghold. As a result no catgirls are going with them. Melona and the other inquisitors do like the catgirls, one even calling them 'amazingly refreshing' to deal with, but all of them are adamant that the stronghold would be no place for these catgirls. They claim that energetic catgirls and kittens would be bored out of their minds, but you bet that it's more out of a worry that they would quickly upend the order, peace and quiet of the monastery-like stronghold. Still, the inquisitors hold firm even in the face of the sad eyes and drooping ears of many catgirls.
"It's such a shame they can't go along with the inquisitors," says Sandra, almost to herself. "I'd like to think some of our catgirls could charm even the most dedicated souls."
You're about to respond when you see high inquisitor Melona tense. She's been saying goodbye to a few catgirls who got close to her during her stay and she's just giving little Laila some ear scratches when she stops and looks around, like she's worried about some kind of threat. She comes over to you and asks "Did you feel something just now?"
"No," you answer honestly. Then you reach into the tides of natural magical energy around you and really feel for a change. There's just a faint hint that something happened, though you can't pinpoint a place or person linked to it. You furrow your brows and concentrate, but you can't feel anything more. It's as if the swirls of magic are smoothing themselves out. After a few more seconds you almost begin to doubt you felt anything at all.
"That was strange," you say to her. "I've never felt something like that. And now I feel like I'm not even sure that I did feel anything... except I know for certain that I did."
"Yes..." she says, all her senses on alert.
Both of you just stand there, straining with all your senses, for several long moments. But nothing else happens. Finally Melona says "I know that wasn't you, it didn't feel like your magic at all. But it also didn't feel that dangerous. At least not directly." She looks like she wants to pace, but then she straightens her shoulders and says, "If you learn what that was I, and the inquisition, would be interested to know. Please send me a message if you do."
"Yes, I will," you say as you run over a few ideas for how you might pick out the source of a magic you've not seen before. But it's so strange, like rain out of a cloudless sky, that you find yourself pushing the problem to the side, focusing more on the goings on around you, the preparations of the army. You make a mental note to get back to that feeling later and then, not entirely trusting that, you actually write yourself a note and slip it in your pocket. Then you put it out of your mind.
As the afternoon drags on...
Many of their troops quietly bid farewell to one catgirl or another who've made their stay here 'more enjoyable'. That's how Sandra put it in front of one worried sergeant who had to try hard to avoid going red in the face. It didn't help that his beau, a naughty white furred catgirl named Naomi was giving him a big hug at the time.
His story isn't unique, there are all sorts of men saying goodbye, many promising to come back, some admitting with a bit of pain or worry in their voice that they will probably never see their favorite catgirl again. They generally get better responses than they were expecting since many of the catgirls are just thrilled to have had any sex at all. A few beg for the soldiers to come back, a few make some vivid promises of what they'll do for their mate if he does find his way back here, and at least one makes an interesting offer once she learns her man is already married.
As for the baronet, he's a charmer who's more loosely connected to the church than the rest. It's no surprise that he sees off the inquisitors, then brings five young and energetic catgirls to see you. He's going to take them back to his lands, protect them, etc. You both know what's actually happening, but neither of you is going to mention it. Lessia does a good job of pretending that she dislikes the idea but is willing to go along with it since it is five fewer girls for you to look after. Baronet Noviender rides off thinking he's got the better of you.
Once he's out of earshot Lessia gives you a hug and whispers, "That poor man".
"Yeah," says Doe, shaking her head. "He has no idea what he's in for."
Renee smiles and says "Luna".
Sandra smiles back at her, tail swishing and says "Giselle".
Renee adds "Theresa".
Sandra continues with "Morganna".
Lessia finishes with "Mercedes".
They all start to laugh and hug each other. The baronet, with almost no help from you, has selected five very eager catgirls. They're all young, they're all svelte, they've each got a body that any red blooded man would kill for. But what he hasn't realized is just how horny these girls are. Sure, all the catgirls at the manor are pent up, but these five are among the most thirsty. For Morganna and Theresa that was the result of some changes you made. Both of them were very uninterested in sex, so Sandra encouraged you to help them. As often happens with life magic things tilted a bit in the other direction.
As for the other three, they are all naturally slutty. Mercedes, in particular, was apparently a nobleman's daughter who was disowned and sold off by her own parents after she started sleeping with any man she could get alone. Nobles, merchants, house staff, guards... it just didn't matter, she loved sex too much to stop. And thanks to a little tweak you've added she's actually fertile now. Before becoming a catgirl her damaged reproductive system was probably the only reason she didn't wind up with child. Of the five she's also the only one who's pregnant, though she isn't showing yet. You can't imagine how horny she's going to get as that belly begins to swell with four of your children.
The baronet is riding off into the sunset with five girls who would each be a handful on their own. Together they are going to drain him dry and leave him ****. And to top it off both Luna and Morganna are Bast worshipers. If he chooses to cut some of these girls loose they will find themselves a man. If he's crazy enough to try keeping all of them in his bed he is going to need magical assistance just to stand up straight.
You give Doe, Renee, Lessia and Sandra a hug, then go inside to find Bethany, Helena and Yvonne, who've been taking care of your babies. You're not sure where Alice is, but she's probably having a nap.
The only people left behind are Sir Galren and a few of his attendants, but that's because his horse has developed some kind of stomach ache. It's such a shame when that happens. And it's one of those things that a life mage, for example, can achieve without any actual harm to the animal. But it is the kind of thing that means a knight might have to stay one more night. Last night you encouraged Laura to go and see Lady Emira, but you didn't have time to listen in on their plans. You don't know exactly what Lady Emira has in mind, but she wanted more time with the young knight, so you provided.
What does she get up to?
