Search the office

“It sounds like he’s important… was important.” You correct yourself, mumbling under your breath.

Entering the large office you see the walls covered with awards, certificates, what look like diplomas and several pictures of police officers at award ceremonies. Next to an overly large oak desk you is a padlocked filing cabinet. Grabbing a blunt letter opener and paperweight from the desk you jam the letter opener into the lock and slam downwards with the paperweight, with a reverberating crash the padlock flies across the room broken in two.

Rummaging through the cabinet you find a large file marked “Evacuation Procedures for General Populace” and open it. It seems to describe what the local police **** procedures are incase of a major disaster such as nuclear war, biological attack and the like. The detailed file contains local evacuation centres, such as a football stadium you walked past and found abandoned and the police headquarters you are in.

“God fucking damnit,” you say to yourself in annoyance.

The last few pages of the file detail a last ditch evacuation plan incase the situation is dire and the police **** lose control. An intricate topographical map shows routes leading to a military base on the outskirts of Ledenborogh, a small town 30 miles away.

“At least it’s something,” you say to yourself “if all police forces have these plans, maybe I’ll find somebody, or something there.”

Placing the file in your backpack you decide to search the building further in hopes of finding some kind of weapon or other supplies that could come in handy.

Turning out of the office into the corridor you’re immediately stopped in your tracks. Stood 20 foot further down the corridor is a woman pointing a pistol directly at you.

“What the…” you exclaim, quickly raising your hands.

“Don’t move!” the woman shouts at you.
