Scott (Male MC)

"Fire probe." Scott ordered.

There was a satisfying whoosh! as a probe was deployed, racing towards the anomaly, a tracer displaying on the navigation screens.

"Something's wrong." Suvi said urgently, frantically manipulating her system's holographic's display. "Something's locking onto the probe, tracing it back to- they're locked onto us!"

Suddenly, the was a wrenching shift that sent Scott, Sara and Cora scrambling to stay on their feet.

"We're being pulled towards the anomaly!" Kallo cried, doing everything he could to resist, to avert the tractor-beam like pull on the Tempest.

Scott steadied herself, and tried to think. He was humanity's Pathfinder. He had located the Initiative's lost Arcs and defeated the Kett. There had to be something he could do, just had to-

But there was no time. In a matter of seconds, they were upon the anomaly, and were thrown forward at dizzying speeds.

The only thing Scott could liken it to was a relay jump, but this was different. Faster, stronger. A mass relay after a night pounding ryncol. As advanced as she was, it seemed like something the Tempest was ill-equipped to handle. If not for Kallo, Suvi, and on the decks below he assumed Gil, it was unlikely the Tempest would have completed its trip.

Just as suddenly as it begun, their strange momentum was arrested. Scott was knocked over, banging his head on a console. Cora bowled into Sara, the two of them crumpling into a heap near Kallo's seat.

Scott felt for wounds. He'd bumped his head, cut it a little, but nothing some medi-gel and a little TLC from Mrs. Ryder wouldn't fix.

As Scott pushed himself to his feet, he noticed Cora doing the same, extricating herself from Sara with a little more haste than might be needed. His kid sister was harmless, really.

Scott put a hand to his temple.

"SAM, I want a sitrep on everyone else. Tell me how Liam, Vetra and the others are doing." the Pathfinder said.

Less than a second passed before his AI partner chimed in with a response.

"Minor injuries, but all crew are alive, Scott." SAM said.

"Good. Give me a rundown on the ship's main systems-" Scott began.

"Ryder, I think that can wait." Kallo said blankly.

"This is important, Kallo-" Scott said.

"No, it can wait. My God..." Suvi said breathlessly, pointing to the main viewscreen.

It took Scott a moment to process what he was seeing.

A familiar starfield enveloped the Tempest, and ahead of them, blocking most of them, was a world.

Earth.

The sight of Scott's homeworld wouldn't have startled him so. If he hadn't left it, centuries ago and and in a different galaxy.

"This can't be possible. This is wrong." Ryder stated.

"It is. That's Earth, alright." Suvi responded.

"We can't say that yet. The scanner's damaged, we can't be sure." Kallo said, his reason trying to assert itself. To leave the Milky Way had taken Arks, and plenty of time. To be back so easily...

"I don't need the scanner. That continent down there. Africa." Suvi said, pointing at the landmass directly in front of them.

Suvi was right. The knowledge burrowed it's way into Scott's brain, leaving the rest of it shredded, but she was right. That was Earth below them. The Sol system.

Stunned, it was all he could do to contact the other members of the crew, while Kallo and Suvi worked to salvage some of the systems.

"Whatever just happened, it was not good for the Tempest. We're lucky we're right by Earth, this bird isn't going anywhere." Kallo told them.

"If anyone's even alive down there anymore." Suvi pointed out. The few logs Scott had recovered from his father intimated it was good they left for Andromeda when they did.

Minutes passed in fraught silence, before Suvi was able to bring some of the comm systems back online.

"What? We're... being hailed." Suvi told them, her board lighting up.

"No, not hailed. That's the code the Systems Alliance sends to pirates, slavers, enemy combatants. We're being boarded." Cora said, clinging to Scott for support.
