School passes uneventfully today

Nothing out of the ordinary happened at school.

Jade half-expected Jason to confront her in school with some unreasonable request, along the lines of: I was very kind not to wake you at midnight, so in exchange, go dance naked in the hall.

Or something to that effect, anyway. Knowing Jason, he’d want to fully savor his time with Jade. Yet, the quarterback had defied her expectations. He barely registered her existence (or Mike’s, though that was a good thing), and just went about his day.

Not that she was complaining. A second spent with Jason was one second too many.

So it was that the day went by peacefully. Jade attended her lessons, spent time with Selene and Mike, and ultimately went home happily. Jason and friends (so to speak) were leaving Mike well enough alone, and Mike was happier than he’d ever been, leaving her and Selene feeling relieved and glad for him.

However, despite that happy feeling, Jade kept feeling out of place. Like, she’d somehow been caught off-guard, and something was happening without her noticing...
