You consider yourself as a rather selfless and virtuous man. Therefore you put aside your personal desires and think about how you could better the world through Ava‘s powers. Since the most serious problems of the world seem to have remained, she obviously doesn‘t much care about the biggest woes of humankind. Thus you put forward an altruistic proposal. “How about I wish world-hunger and poverty to not be a thing anymore? That everyone has a clean source of water. Free education for every child. For climate change to stop. Erase deadly diseases. Ever considered those before?“

Ava rolls her eyes and tsks. “Come on, honey. This isn‘t fun. Do I have to read your mind in order to squeeze your true desires out of that do-gooder mind of yours?“

Once more you wonder if that strange person actually is your girlfriend, given that you recognize barely anything about her anymore. As if she had been replaced by an unapologetic and self-righteous version of herself. “You could turn Earth into a paradise with but a though, couldn‘t you? Then why just don‘t do us the fucking favor and erase all of humanity‘s hardest challenges out of existence? Don‘t you feel any responsibility? I mean... you used to care.“

“But sweaty,“ she says and tenderly takes your hands. “Of course I care. And I‘m about to transform the world into a paradise. Our paradise. Shape it after our desires. I just wanted you at my side when I begin. I want paradise to be just as pleasing to you as it will be for me.“

“Well, in my paradise people don‘t have to starve or work all day for minimum wages. As long as those issues aren‘t corrected, don‘t ask me for what I wish most.“

“Mmh-“ Ava considers for a moment. “Don't wanna argue against that. You‘ve always been unbearably generous. Another reason why I haven‘t just created the perfect man and returned to you. Tell you what. Let‘s make a deal. I‘ll actually tend to the world‘s most serious challenges right here and now, but in return, you agree to let me glimpse into your subconsciousness to see what you honestly consider as your personal paradise. D‘accord?“

Even though you‘re not a fan of ultimatums, you‘re left with no other choice. You trust your subconsciousness enough to not fear anything harmful to happen to the world. You know that you secretly wish that pizza wouldn‘t make fat and that the final season of Game of Thrones hadn‘t been so gut-wrenchingly awful. So what‘s the worst Ava could bring from your mind into reality? “It‘s a deal,“ you say. “And you‘re really feeling up to the task?“

But she just blows some air through her nose and smirks. “World saved in 3... 2... 1...“ As she dramatically snaps her fingers, a breezy shockwave blasts into all directions. It reminds you a bit of when Thanos snapped his fingers in Infinity War. But instead of bringing **** and destruction, you inertly feel that Ava has kept her word. New memories flood your mind. Memories of how the world had saved itself during the last 10 years. You remember how every nation had begun to pull on the same sting to absolutely ensure that every last person had more than just sufficient food and water, as well as wealth and healthy work conditions. How climate change had been stopped through investment into clean energy. How schools had been build in every village in the world. How every disease became curable through research. How wars became a thing of the past as nations and people began to strive for peace. Of course you‘re aware that Ava has set all those miracles into motion, but it still baffles you how much humanity could accomplish.

With pride she crosses her arms and grins smugly. “I couldn‘t just get rid of all challenges at once. So I altered the past and made humanity save itself. Only me and you remember the last decade differently. That‘s that. Can I fulfill your deepest, most secret desires now?“
