Saving graces and a badass display

A gunshot's bang ricochets around the store. The two outer men are momentarily stunned into confusion from the deafening shot that whizzes overhead. Brooke has her gun trained on the cock-wielding infected as he staggers a step back. Taking the extra moment you scramble to your feet next to the stiff stance of your foul mouthed saviour.

"Are ye bleedin' kidding me! I shot you in the heart, why ain't ya dying?" Her brows furrow and mouth twists as she unloads the rest of her gun into the infected. You watch as each shot hits perfectly... Into his chest.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" You yell through the thunderous bangs being released. Her gun stops shooting and the man stands perfectly still with nine freshly leaking bullet holes in his chest. Your ears continue to ring which you try to shake away unsuccessfully.

"I'm killing him. Unless ya want to deal with his fucking weapon?" She empties the magazine from the pistol as the infected man steps forward again. "What? I shot him in the heart..." Brooke gasps.

"You have to shoot them in the head!" You snap angrily as she wasted her ammo without realising.

"How the bleedin' hell do ya expect us to do that?" She snaps back, more out of worry than anger.

"It's how they are killed. Either blunt **** trauma to the head or-" A blur of movement cuts you off. Hina bolts past the both of you and straight at the thirteen incher. With the machete drawn, she sprints keeping her body low and the blade by her legs just behind her body. The man lunges clumsily for her large tits that bounce with every step, but his bear-belly slows his arms allowing Hina to weave around. With the infected stumbled by the feint she quickly slips behind him and brings the machete down hard through the back of his neck. "Or by decapitation..."

Almost through.

Even with her incredible speed and technique, lacking the strength behind the attack leaves the blade stuck. Her face that had been remarkably calm suddenly shifts to panic as she struggles to remove the machete. With the sound no longer confusing the other two infected, they set their blank eyes on Hina. The man remains motionless but the two behind her advance on the new sounds she makes with her feeble struggling.

You sprint forward, drawing your gun as you do. "This is how I expect us to do that!" You yell as you jump over the slumped body and past Hina. You aim and fire twice at the one on the left. Your first shot connects with his throat, the second flies wide. "Shit." They slow their advance but don't stop fully at the gunshots this time.

"Not so easy is it pretty boy!" Brooke quips while remaining still. You could help! Uh... I know. You turns and grab the machete with one hand.

"Can I borrow this Hina?" Her panic subsides at your touch and she releases her hands with a nod. "Thanks." You easily pull the blade free and face the two men. Their incessant, bloody, groans send a shiver down your spine. The intent to kill you had never been this closely directed on you until this moment and it almost terrifies you too much to act.

A sudden warmth fills your chest. The ever so familiar feeling of your body improving just hit at the right time however you have no way to ask what it was that she gave you. "Something good please Rikka." You mutter under your breath. Hina gasps closely behind you.

As the man on the right reaches for you his whole body seems to slow down. You swiftly glance sideways at the other one who is also slowed down. It's as though they just hit a wall of thick syrup and have to wade through it. "Michael..." Brooke calls out in a very drawn out manner. You try to look back but feel your body shift at an uncomfortably slower pace.

Wait a second... I'm just perceiving this faster than everyone else! With a sudden realisation you move your body back as fast as you can while moving the flat edge of the blade to deflect the right man's arms from grabbing you. With, what you hope is, all your power into the swing, you hit into his arms. The quick shift sends him off balance enough that he begins to stumble to the side; clearly the infected can't master feelings such as balance very easily as it doesn't appear to try and save itself from falling over.

You don't allow it to reach the ground however, instead using your gun to shoot its head as it falls. With a thud everything speeds back to normal and a sense of dizziness threatens to take over. You drop to one knee, attempting to stay upright. "Just a few more seconds Rikka... Please." You grit your teeth and look at the last infected stomping towards you. Same as last time, as he reaches for you everything slows down again.

With little strength left you simply rise the handgun to its head and wait for it to move closer. Wanting to leave no doubt that you'll miss you let it grab onto your shoulders as it rears its teeth wide open for a bite. Bite on this jerk-off! You fire straight into the unnatural mouth. Its head jerks back and everything speeds up again. The infected crumples quickly on top of you, forcing you to the ground beneath it. It... I suppose it's not human anymore.

And your eyes close from fatigue.
