Save her!

Venus clenched Inari's hand tighter and looked into her eyes. Her resolve to save the kitsune was as firm as it had been to save Moseph, and if this was the only way, then she would do it.

"Inari, fuse with me. I'm not going to just let you die, even if it means we have to become one."

The fox nodded and then her body began to glow. The light spread through her body and up her arm until it touch Venus's hand. Venus felt a gentle heat burning into her hand for a moment and then the light began to spread up her arm as well. Then her vision went out and the world turned white.

Venus was floating in an endless void of darkness. She didn't know what was up, or where she was. She realized she was naked, but she couldn't seem to move at all or even cry out for anyone. Then she felt the cool skin of two soft breasts press against her back as two arms wrapped around her waist. Someone was nuzzling into her neck from behind and Venus felt comforted by the feeling. Somehow she knew who it was without looking.

"So this is how it feels inside you," mused Inari. Venus tried to answer, but couldn't seem to do so. Then she felt Inari begin to spin her around until the two women were face to face. Inari's smile was warm and she hugged Venus again.

"So much emptiness inside of you. I see it all Venus. Every memory, every lonely moment, every painful goodbye you tell your family every night in your dreams. You aren't alone anymore! I'm here inside you, part of you now and forever. I know everything you know and as you grow stronger in my power, you will know everything I knew. Thank you."

The woman leaned in and brushed a gentle kiss across Venus's lips before pulling back.

"Please take care of him for me. You are Inari now."

As she said this, the world around them began to brighten until the glow was blinding.

"..... you ok? Venus? Can ..... me? Please tell me .... are ok?"

Moseph was leaned over her shaking her gently. Her vision was blurry as if she was having trouble focusing and her hearing seemed to be off as well. Although she could hear him, not everything he said was registering with her mind. She flicked and ear, trying to sharpen her focus.... Then she realized that she shouldn't be able to move her ears like that. And they were in a different place. She tried to sit up and Moseph tried to stop her, but she held up a hand to get him to stop. Were her hands always that small?

After she sat up, she ran a hand up to her head, past where her ears used to be. Two furry fox ears now sat atop her head. That and her shirt was tighter to her chest. If she wasn't mistaken, her D cups were now pushing DD. Her hands and arms were smaller and her skin was perfect. And she noticed that something was painful with the way she was sitting. She rolled to the side a little to fix it, but realized that only standing would allow that. So she stood on shaky legs and gently worked her now baggy pants down a little, exposing the top of her ass as she pulled her bushy fox tail out of her pants. That was new as well....

"Venus?"

Judging by his wide eyes and shaky voice, she wasn't the only one a little confused. Then the last words she had heard in her mind echoed back to her and she shook her head and gave a weak smile.

"I'm Inari now. Or at least partly her. Vinari? No, that doesn't sound right. Maybe I'll just stick with Inari. Venus just doesn't seem to fit now."

"Your ear! And the tail," Moseph choked out the words in a hoarse voice. In her mind, images of his face began to form. He was handsome with a rough patch of stubble on his chin that never seemed to grow even though he didn't shave. It was a memory that wasn't hers, but at the same time she felt like she had always known it. So this was how it was for now, the memories of her previous life were going to slowly integrate with the memories she already had. So that was what the Inari in her mind had meant.

"I don't know how to make them go away. Are they permanent?"

"I doubt it, but until you get full control over.... all this, I don't know if you can get rid of them or go back looking like normal. You're a little shorter now. Your waist is smaller but your.... Erm..."

"Tits?" she supplied helpfully.

"Yeah... Their bigger."

"Noted Mose." Did she really just call him Mose? It seemed so natural even though she hadn't spent much time with him.... Then another memory. She had always wanted to call him Mose. She had wanted him to hold her in his arms after a passionate night and gently nibble on his nose while calling him Mose.

"Mose?"

"Yeah, this is a little awkward. She loved you Moseph. I... love you." The last words were barely a whisper, but she was almost certain he heard her.

Moseph was still sitting where she had left him when she stood up, but he was looking at her as if unsure how to proceed. Finally he nodded and simply asked "What now?"

That was a good question. Part of her wanted to simply hold him and make sure he was alright. Then maybe take him to the nearest inn to play naughty nurse for the rest of the night, but Inari pushed that thought aside. She needed to return to Namina. It would be slow going with an injured man and her still unsure about her new body. That would mean finding an inn for the night.... Damn her new memories. Was that fox in heat when they fused?

Taking a moment to clear her mind, Inari thought for a moment. She certain that even with it still being early in the day that they couldn't make it to Namina before nightfall. They could either try to make it to the nearest inn and hope for some kind of assistance with Mose's wounds, or they could find a nice spot and try to camp for the evening. She still had the fire starting kit, plus whatever supplies he had. They could take their time and try to make it back by cutting through the forest that way, but who knows what kind of danger they might face.
