SOL - The tea is spilled

You shrug awkwardly, unsure how to reply.

“Nothing,” you say hesitantly, taking a sip.

“I heard Pink Team’s captain’s fucking whipped for one of her offense players,” Cheryl says without hesitation. “It’s the brunette, right?”

“Lara,” Beth confirms.

Kayla raises her hand. “We all know that captain is my sister, right?”

“I’ve heard your sister’s forgotten all about football so she can act like a lovesick teenager,” Riona tells her, a little drunkenly.

“She probably has,” Kayla replies with a laugh. “She’s a little sheltered.”

“It is odd,” Beth notes, looking thoughtful. “I’ve known Lara for ages. Never seen her get so serious about someone before.”

“Well, that… Pink Team captain…” Jill says, refilling her cup. “She’s, um, perky.”

Beth chokes on her drink and Kayla rolls her eyes.

“God. Very observant. What tipped you off? The fact that FUTA doesn’t release a single ad that doesn’t have Riley’s butt in it somewhere?” Kayla shakes her head and helps herself to more drink.

“I’m glad that Lara’s getting serious,” Beth says. “She never has done before. She was always leaving all the time.”

“She still does that,” you say.

Beth sighs. “I hope that Riley understands.”

“Understands what?” you ask.

“That Lara has to do her… thing,” Beth says. “She has to.”

You aren’t sure that Riley does understand that.

“That is some shitty relationship stuff,” Cheryl tells her frankly. “Saying that you just have to be a certain way and hiding behind it is bullshit. What’s her deal? Where does she go?”

“I don’t understand it all myself,” Beth admits. “But she’s always done it. Gone off traveling very suddenly and come back looking as though she’d been hit by a lorry.”

“That’s not suspicious at all,” Meghan says with a laugh.

“Well, where do you sneak off to every night?” Roonie shoots back at her.

Meghan clears her throat. “Mind your business.”

“See?” Cheryl says with an obnoxious look on her face.

“Maybe I’m banging my girlfriend,” Meghan says defensively.

“What girlfriend,” Jill asks with a snort.

“Her secret girlfriend that goes to another school that you’ll probably never meet,” Kayla says, and everyone laughs, including Meghan. But you see the way that Meghan looks at Kayla. You aren’t blind. Meghan might come here for the booze, but she stays for Kayla.

You can’t blame her. Kayla’s impish little smile, beautiful red hair, generous bust, and creamy thighs are hard to look away from. You blink several times and finish your drink, reaching for the bottle to get a refill. You pour, not really paying attention to how much, and put the bottle aside, having another sip.

“So I guess that Riley probably doesn’t know that Lara’s cheating on her,” Meghan says casually. You spit out your drink.
