Run past the man, towards my home.

I decided to run past the man I had just downed, hoping to make it to my house just two blocks away. As I sprinted away, the I could hear the van accelerating towards me, as well as foot steps catching up behind me.

As I made it to the last stretch (the residentail district conainting my parent's house), I ceased to hear the van and footsteps behind me. Turning around, I saw it heading the opposite direction.

It looked like I escaped whatever fate those people had in store for me.
