Rot heads down to the bleachers to meet Joey

"I heard you were flirting with Briana and Rachel." Joey looked downcast as Rot slipped under the bleachers at the football stadium. "I figured you would stand me up."

Rot closed the distance to where Joey stood, grasped her shoulders, pulled her to him, and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "You need to think better of yourself."

"Why? I never get dates. I'm not even going to win the election for Girls' League and there's really nobody running against me." Tears trickled down her cheeks and big gulping sounds made her last words almost unintelligible.

Rot wasn't ready for this. On the one hand, he didn't mind women coming to him with their problems, but he didn't want that many problems.

"First," he said, "the whole Girls' League thing is a fraud perpetrated by school administration. They'd never give you the power to do anything important. Second, you can get dates. You're pretty. You--"

"I'm not pretty. I'm a freak."

Rot shook his head. "You mean your boobs? They're not freakish."

"I never know if anyone is interested in me or my tits."

"Suppose," Rot said, "you had incredible hair so pretty everyone noticed. Now, you might say guys were only interested because of your pretty hair but really, the pretty hair would just be like advertising to attract attention. Nothing wrong with that. And boobs are the same."

"You think?" She snuffled.

"Definitely. Now let's have a look and I'll tell you if they're freakish."
