Ms. Tittle came out of the gym office holding a clip board, wearing the same gym uniform as all the girls, which seemed even smaller on her larger more muscular frame. Like many of the students, she had apparently swapped out the standard baggy red shorts for much shorter ones, leaving her thighs almost completely exposed. She was tall and busty, and the bottom of the gym t-shirt didn’t quite make it past her belly button.
She took the whistle hanging from her neck and blew into it, getting all of the student’s attention. “All right,” she shouted, in her loud gym teacher voice. “Everybody pair up with your partner and get in a line!”
She walked over to where Kathy and I stood, looking at the clipboard she held with one hand, while running through her short, neatly trimmed hair with her other. “Mr. Doe, seeing as you’re new to this class, we don’t have a gym partner assigned to you at the moment. Now let me just take roll, and we’ll see if anyone’s partner is absent, then…”
“I don’t have a gym partner, Ms. Tittle,” Kathy interrupted from my left. “Tammy dropped out last week.”
