Robin calls out of work

Robin woke the next day slowly. It took him a moment of just laying there to wrap his head around what happened the night before. He desperately tried to will it into a bad dream but that was dashed by the sound of John's voice.

“Honey, you up? I made us breakfast,” John said on the other side of the door.

If the term of endearment wasn't a big enough clue, the breakfast was a big one.

“Oh...uh, thanks,” Robin said, uncomfortable.

“Well, it's hot and ready. See you soon,” John said before walking away.

Robin sat up and tried to think about what to do next. He had a sneaking suspicion of what might happen as they said their loving goodbyes for the day and the thought turned his stomach.

“I think I'm going to be sick,” he mumbled.

Then it hit him. Of course! He could avoid any more displays of affection if he just pretended he was sick. He could call out from work and try and track down that bloodstone guy and see if he could undo this...if he was still alive...

The possibility that John might be stuck like this suddenly occurred to him. There was no way he was going to keep pretending to be John's girlfriend permanently. No. Way. He quickly shot off a message to the office and then opened the bedroom door slightly.

“John...honey...I don't think I'm coming to breakfast. I don't feel well. I think I'm going to stay home today,” he said faking a sick voice.

“Oh, no. Anything I can do?” John said with concern.

“No, I'll be okay. You go to work, I just need to rest,” Robin fake graveled.

“I could call out and stay home,” John offered.

“No!...no. That's, uh, sweat but I'm just going to sleep. I don't want us both missing work,” Robin said getting ****.

“Well, please call if you need anything,” John told him.

“Will do,” Robin told, relieved that he didn't plan on staying home now.

Robin waited until he heard the sound of John leaving the apartment and only after that was he able to start his day.
