Rival time (Rowlet as your starter)

(Since the rival's Pokemon team depends loosely on your starting Pokemon, these battles will be somewhat different)

As you walk towards the entrance of Iki Town, eager to show your mom your new Pokemon, a young man enters the city from the entrance, spots you and runs towards you. He looks like an average Trainer with a backpack, but instead of pants, he is wearing orange Hawaiian shorts and a black T-shirt, as well as having some kind of ponytail hair.

"Hey! You and me! Let's have a Pokemon battle!" he announces to you.

Hala and company follow behind you and see an imminent battle approaching. "Dahahaha!" says the kahuna, "Where's the fire, boy? What kind of man are you to start a Pokemon battle where you don't even give a name first, eh?"

The boy apologizes a little, "Fair enough. I'm Hau. And my partner's Popplio! I think your Rowlet looks really cool! Let's see them battle! I've been looking all over for you!"

Lillie interjects, "Um, I don't want to see Pokemon battles since they can get hurt..., but I'll watch this one."

Professor Kukui feels pumped. "Oh yeah, your first battle already! Have your Pokemon dish out moves and see who wins, woo!"

Hala turns to you. "I appreciate you being willing to take on my grandson Hau. I expect a no-holds-barred battle here!"
