Ride With Nick

You are really tempted to use the opportunity to get to know Professor Clark better, but you decide to play it safe and catch a ride with your friend. That will give you more of a chance to learn about Clark and what to expect over the next couple of days.

When Nick arrives, you throw your bag in the trunk, hop in the passenger seat, and make yourself comfortable. As the car pulls out of the campus, you ask,“How long have you been going to these parties?”

“Since about a month after starting my freshman year. Clark asked me to stay after class and asked me if I wanted some male companionship. I didn’t know how he knew about me, other than seeing me in class, but it turns out that ‘his boys,’ as he likes to call us, are always encouraged to be on the lookout for fresh meat. I had just hooked up with his teaching assistant the weekend before, and I guess he ‘nominated’ me.”

“And you ‘nominated’ me?” you ask. “What took you so long? Didn’t I make a good enough impression the first time?”

Nick laughs. “No, I had you in mind for this from the start. I just wasn’t sure I wanted to share you. It soon became clear that there’s more than enough of you to go around.”

“So does this make me one of Professor Clark’s ‘boys’? What does that mean, anyway?”

“Well, you definitely have your foot in the door. It all depends on whether he takes a liking to you. And it’s more a title of endearment — don’t expect any special privileges. I was up all night with him and his friend, and he still expects me to have my paper into him on time.”

You glance over at Nick as he drives and can’t help but admire what you see. “So... are you going to be busy with your professor all weekend, or will you have some time for me?”

Nick grins and reaches over and grabs your leg. “Oh, I have time — and plenty more than time — for you. The real question is whether you will be so popular with the rest of the guys that you don’t have time for me.”

With this, the two of you arrive at Professor Clark’s large, secluded home. You see several cars already filling the driveway and several more lined up in the side yard. Nick says, “Looks like a full house already. I can drop you off at the door while I find a place to park, if you want.”
