Chapter 13

Do You Want To Review Your Plan, Or Just Be About It?
Review The Plan
Your plan has seven stages: Raw-Bone, Rag-Bone, Raged-Edge, Razor-Edge, Bleeding-Edge, Bloodied-But-Unbowed, and your final Victory.
In the Raw-Bone stage, you are going to scout around your local area and find a set of common-as-dirt but never-the-less tough and strong Pokémon to form a starting team. You expect that it will take about a month to build a team capable of carrying you through to the Rag-Bone stage. While this is going on you will live off your government stipend as a researcher studying the worlds only known Lunapillar and save what money you can for the expenses of the journey ahead. Once you have eight good Pokémon it's time to move on to the next stage.
With a basic fighting team of eight local common Pokémon, it's time to move on to the Rag-Bone stage. In this stage you leave home for real, heading out into the wider world for more than just the weekend. You also diversify your group from the bug-types, Flying-types, and 'normal' Pokémon you can acquire around here by finding new types such as Krabby, Staryu, Horsea, Celefairy, Ecans, Machop, Oddish, Belsprout, Geodude, Nidoran (Hopefully a mateable pair), and, if you dare, heading out to the site of the Saint Satoshi Massacre to try to find and capture Ghost-types like Ghastlys, Duskskulls, and Haunters. During this phase, you avoid pickup battles, but when you are ready for them you move on to the...
Ragged-Edge stage: You will by this time have spent about 3 months getting ready to take on other trainers and have a diversified team which can beat down most common trainers around here. Soon enough you will be "dancing on the raggedy edge" of gambling your skill and your Pokémon's prowess in exchange for a few hundred ¥ here and there to keep you and your growing stable of Pokémon fed. Pickup battles become the proving ground of your training and battling techniques, where you put all you have learned from the book Professor Oak sold you into practice. During this phase, you help your' existing Pokémon mature and look for rarer examples such as Tangela, Poregon, Sandshrew, Tauros, Drowzy, any of the standard three Pokémon for young trainers, and of course, the iconic Pokémon of the modern age: Pikachu. This stage will last about two months, by which time you need to be working with a very strong and dangerous team because the next phase dials things up to 11...
The Razor-Edge Stage is where you go off the deep end: this will take you through the winter: you trek out through the snow to find Ice Types and other rares, visiting locations which are normally too thronged by Lookie-Lou's and campers to get the Premo Pokémon which live there but as the icy weather of the winter months forces them to den up they become **** to your Pokéballs. By the end of the Razor Edge Stage you will have collected and trained an elite group including DEFINITELY having visited the Saint Satoshi Massacre site to collect ghost types and having brought several of your best Pokémon through the process of maturation to their adult forms, including, hopefully, Mister Moon, just one more stage to go before you face the league...
The difference between the Razor-Edge stage and the Bleeding-Edge stage is wavering and ill-defined, but important and fundamental. At some point during the winter, you cease going after mere rares and start hunting LEGENDS. Dragonite, Gyarados, taking a trip down to the tropical jungles to try to bond with a Mew, and, dare you even dream of what some would consider blasphemy...? Capture and tame the Articuno?
Bloodied-But-Unbowed: now comes the long hard slog: over the spring and summer storming the gyms of the Kanto league: then as the leaves turn in the fall the championships and then the round robin: and never can you falter or fall. At that point, should you stand triumphant, you return to the wavering and ill-defined searches for rares and legends, building up a team that will be the envy of the entire world.
Victory: For Five years you rise up to be the very best Master Trainer you can be, and then, at 16 years old, the time comes for what will at that point be the culmination of your entire life, your bitter and unrelenting brawl between your best of the best culled from the wild and perhaps painstakingly bred, and Professor Oak's Team, the products of a human lifetime of selective breeding in his personal habitat kennels and trained to the very highest standard: should you make it that far, your name will already be legend: but should you then WIN? You will be more than legend, you will be revered as a living goddess!
Okay, That's The Plan, But A Journey Of A Thousand Miles Begins With A Single Step: So, What's Step 1?
