Returning home

Taki sprints through the forest, returning with all haste to home. She bore a very important package for Master Toki and he would praise her speed. Master had called the clan to assemble several weeks ago, telling them that a rogue clan member had stolen the legendary sword Mekki-Maru. As was customary, he ordered the gathered ninjas to retrieve the sword and eliminate the thief. It was the appropriate response but something in Master Toki's eyes made her suspicious. She'd tried to track down the thief and question him herself but other members of the clan beat her by mere moments, dispatching the thief and any information he might have held.

Since then, Taki had tried to dismiss her suspicions but there was something... off about the situation. She was very close to the village now, if she was going to do something now would be the time.

(Hm... this sounds a lot like her origin story if you remember correctly. Except in the story she'd been able to find and talk with the thief before the other ninjas got to him. He'd told her that the sword was evil and had influenced Master Toki, a previously kind man and stepfather to Taki, infecting him with its evil energies. You'd be making the "correct" decision if you left and hid the sword somewhere... but you weren't here to be correct were you?)
