Retrieval
"Captain. Shannon hasn't reported in, Sir." A woman informs.
The Capitan, a portly bald man, who's uniform jacket is decorated with rows of medals and patches paces behind his desk, situated in the middle of the northern side of the station. The police station looked like an advanced space station. Countless floors full of hard-at-work officers crowding the corridors. Hanger bays strewn out at each side of the station, each the size of five football fields.
At the top floor is where the Caption sits, fuming at the speculation that his best officer has failed.. "How long does it take to apprehend a known fugitive?" The Captain thinks out loud. Getting to his feet, he announces to himself that he will get her back. Overhearing this, a woman boldly steps inside his office. "Captain, I want to volunteer to retrieve officer Shannon."
"And you are?" asks the Captain, quizzically. Blood still thundering in his ears.
"Officer Dana Walton." Dana gestures for a handshake, but the Captain rejects it. At first glance, the Captain sums up that Dana as a clueless rookie full of fluttering butterflies and a rainbow for a brain.
"Tell me, what do you do here?" Asks the Captain.
"Well. I get people's coffees, and my own. And I work on filing especially my nails, see."
Unimpressed, the Captain walks around his desk, clearing his throat. "Dana, I'm sure those rosey cheeks and bubbly personality will win over at the Academy, but this is where the sharks swim." As they are literally nose to nose, Dana is visibly shaken up.
"Your job is to retrieve a fellow officer. Detective Shannon. She went to Urma 7 on a mission then went dark. Find her for us, Officer Walton."
Hearing her name with a promotional rank lifted her spirit. "Yes, Sir." With that, she salutes her Captain and hurries to the nearest hanger.
