Naruto shakes his head, "Sorry Ayame-chan. I can't do that."

"Why?"

Naruto looks at his hands, ignoring her question, "I'm trying, really I am. I do want this all to stop. And as much as I would like to... I don't know if I'll succeed or not, but I have to try."

Naruto turns towards the door.

****, Ayame grabs his arm.

He gently extracts her grip from his wrist.

"Please... where are you going? I tried to find you at your apartment today... but you weren't there."

"Don't look for me, Ayame-chan. Please, try and escape," Naruto bows his head slightly, unable to look at her, as though he knows either Ino or Ayame herself, will see to it that she finds him again.

In a swirl of leaves, Naruto disappears.
