Suddenly, the chamber doors burst open. Several men and women in black, SWAT style uniforms burst in. One was armed with a flamethrower. "Die, you freakish beast!" screamed one of the men as they opened fire on the the creature's central structure.
Startled, the creature releases its hold on you. You fall several feet before slipping down the surface of the slimy plant wall to the floor as the beast lashes out at its attackers. Two of the men were killed by the tentacles strangling them but the remaining three continue firing with machine guns As the breeding pods burst open, some men and women escaped, running out behind the **** team or climbing out through pipes. Others, held in place by suckers, seem to be screaming in sympathy with the plant.
You recompose yourself from your startled state. Dodging gunfire and flailing tentacles, you approach the group. "Get behind me, girl. We're gonna burn this bastard" yelled one of the female soldiers. You dive for cover as they opened fire with the flamethrower, burning the beast as it screams and finally dies. The group surveys the scene of charred plant and human remains.
"What about those still trapped?" you asked in horror.
"Too late for them, the poor bastards", one of the women kicked a dead tentacle, "Once the thing's merged with them, it establishes a hive mind. Even if we free them, they'll be vegetables."
"Now, what shall we do about you?" You suddenly notice the group had not lowered their guard, their weapons still firmly trained on you......
