How will things progress now?

Reconciliation

James can we talk?” Tiffany came to his door several minutes later. “What do we have to talk about Tiffany?” James asked knowing she would have an issue with him using her name as if they were equals. “Well first is that I’m your mother and he’s your father. You should show us the respect we deserve! Secondly, you made an agreement with your father about the dating issue and will uphold that like I raised you too. Third is you will fix things with your sister! That issue has gone on for far too long!” Tiffany shook her head wondering what he was thinking. “First; you said I was acting childish because I was being cautious about this situation and you want me to act like an adult. However I maintain it’s an adult reaction when it becomes obvious someone is trying to get you to act without all available information which you had but refused to divulge. So it seems to me as an adult you refuse to give the same respect to me that you yourself demand. Secondly, Steve lied to me to start with about being banished ergo any additional agreements I may have entered into are based upon a lie and are thus invalid. Third, the situation between me and my sister are none of your concern because neither of you can be trusted with the truth or to divulge such.” He scowled to impress his point of view now.

James that’s a very hurtful thing to say to your mother!” Tiffany felt tears at the statement. “So you’re denying everything still?” he smiled slightly at the idea. “Son we told you all we can!” Tiffany sighed wishing he’d just listen for once. “Once again we come back to this issue. You see Tiffany I have more than enough information to make a more informed decision now. Your choices are simple; back off or I leave. I’m done with lies and I’m done with evasions so if you seriously want me in your lives after this then just back off!” he growled but wasn’t surprised now that she stepped back at his tone. She quickly fled the room and he shook his head thinking it was long overdue to check the traps he’d set. He left the cabin quickly hoping to avoid another conversation with his parents. He wasn’t happy to learn his traps were all full with week old kills but knew it wasn’t really his fault. He quickly reset them then went looking for the cabin Gavin had told him about. He found it an hour later and thought it wasn’t in too bad of shape and could easily be repaired. He spent a couple of hours cleaning the place up before heading back to the cabin to see if he could find Jaime.

James sighed but decided to just wait for Jaime to return instead of stressing his stitches by wandering around looking for her. He thought over several options knowing what he’d discussed with the elder and thought he needed to get out and meet more of the girls just not right that minute. He sighed at how tired he felt after the night before and the morning he had. He felt his eyes closing as he slowly fell into a doze. He was awakened sometime later by a soft knock on the door. “Come on in.” he called as he stirred and sat up slowly. “Sorry, just need a change of clothes. I won’t bother you or take long.” Jaime kept her eyes on the floor as she entered. “Jaime, sit down please. It’s past time we had a talk.” James sighed wondering if he could accomplish anything here. Jaime sat down on her bed with a deer in the headlights look while James sat wondering how best to do what needed to be done. “Brother I’m sorry if I misunderstood what you wanted to do. I seriously thought we had decided to do what they wanted until we knew more but I haven’t learned anything new yet.” Jaime felt her tears welling up yet again.

“I’ve learned a great deal since I refused them. I don’t understand how there was a misunderstanding when I told you point blank I wasn’t doing what they wanted. So much has happened and you weren’t there for any of it.” James sighed but knew he had to try to see past it all. “I’m so very sorry brother! I never meant to create this distance between us!” Jaime let her tears fall knowing it was the truth. “Sister I know you didn’t mean too but it happened and we have to find a way to move passed it. I miss you but I won’t do or say anything that will influence your decisions. Let’s take a walk and talk things through.” James had the initial stages of a plan but wondered what she’d say when she learned everything. They walked through the woods talking over the issues between them until they came to the cabin he’d started working on. Jaime was surprised when he told her how he’d found it but seemed calmer than before. They stepped inside and Jaime looked around at the cabin they were in. James quickly looked the place over for any sign someone had been there since he had and smiled when he found it was clean of listening devices.

Jaime we were right but there’s so much more to what’s going in here than you’ll ever guess.” He sighed but sat down on an old dilapidated couch. “What do you mean and how do you know? I haven’t been able to uncover anything and they still aren’t talking.” Jaime shook her head at the idea. “I’ve learned a few tricks that get people to slip up. One of them was an elder and he told me this is about arranged marriage yes but also an experiment concerning genetic conditioning. They’re trying to breed better humans through the selective breeding process.” Jake shook his head wondering how long this had been going on. “They can’t be. Isn’t that illegal by international law?” she was shocked at the idea. “I don’t know for certain. I know genetic engineering is illegal but I’ve never looked into selective breeding laws.” Jake sighed but knew they needed more information. “So what do we do about this? I mean, if they’re trying to breed a better human then wouldn’t they **** us to marry someone they choose instead of giving us options?” Jaime shook her head at the idea. “At this moment I’m not sure what we can do but I do know that all of the kids here are a part of this experiment. That means they have to be trying different combinations to find the best attributes. I do know Gavin told me specifically that the two of us are very important to them.” He sighed but remembered the conversation they’d had.

“Well your strength and healing speed I’m sure has drawn their attention but why would they be interested in me?” Jaime was surprised at the idea. “You’re my twin and if I have some kind of enhanced abilities it stands to reason you do as well. They probably don’t realize yet you’ve got really sensitive hearing and can see farther than I can.” He sighed but wondered what else she could do. “Well probably not but I have a serious question I need to ask you. James what was it like having sex for the first time?” she giggled but was seriously curious now. “It was awesome. I’m not sure exactly what it is I’m feeling with Kim but I know it’s important. Sis she makes me happy and I look forward to being near her every moment. She’s always on my mind and I’m always thinking of how what I’m doing might make her happy or sad.” He sighed wishing he knew what he should call the feeling. “You’re in love brother! I’m so happy for you but I don’t think it’ll be so easy for me to find someone. The boys here are far to smug and arrogant.” She sighed wondering if she’d ever find someone she felt comfortable enough with to have sex herself.

“I guess it’s possible I’m in love but I wouldn’t know since our parents have left us with no experience in that regard. We need to come up with a plan though because as far as they know we haven’t made up!” he shook his head wondering how best to play things to their advantage. “How about we take some time and figure the best way. For now we keep acting exactly like we have been. We have a place to talk now and we have time to settle on a plan that should work.” Jaime sighed but knew she was coming up blank at the moment. “I’m considering seriously moving here full time. That way you could sleep in a comfortable bed and wouldn’t have to pretend to cry because I’m around. Plus Kim could visit me but I still have to date at least one of the girls here twice a week. God I hate this crap especially since I know Kim is the only one I want.” He sighed but knew he had to uphold that for now. “Aside from Dawn and Liza who else do you even know?” Jaime shook her head since she knew he would never date Liza willingly. “I’ll ask Dawn for a walk but I need to start meeting the other girls soon. I need to make them think I’m going along with them until I can decide which way to move next.” He sighed but hoped things would get easier soon.

Jaime have they asked you yet about genetic and fertility testing? Kim told me they want everyone here tested and they’re trying to get a semen sample from me. I allowed the genetic testing but I won’t make it easy for them to get the other samples they want!” James shook his head knowing they would continue to try. “Not yet and it worries me that they’d try! James what if they were to use your semen sample to knock one of these girls up hoping to pass on your gifts?” Jaime but her lip at the idea. “I don’t plan to give them enough to test and do other things with. My plan is to give just enough to be tested.” James sighed but had to admit he’d never considered that. “I think I’m going to refuse to do the testing. If they see me not cooperating they may lose focus for a bit on what you’re doing.” Jaime shook her head wondering if that would actually work though. “It might work; especially if they believe you’re doing it to try getting back on my good side. Jaime; please be careful though. If I hadn’t been close by that day you would have been seriously hurt on top of being ****.” James sighed but pulled her in for a tight hug.

Will the plan work?
