Reality TV Star

“...You’re sure this is legit? I’m dumbfounded they actually even called back. Much less agree to send a TV crew over and everything.” Gwen answered shocked over the phone. Marie laughed lightly, as she continued to clean her house. “Yeah, I know right? They said so long as I do all 30 days of the filming, they’ll probably broadcast it a few months later and pay me big for it! Crazy!” She said again over the phone, coughing as dust rose up and clouded her vision.

Marie’s newfound fortune came in the form of being involuntarily signed up for a reality show by Gwen. The new show had a simple premise: one randomized outfit from any number of a thousand possibilities. Almost all of the options were ridiculous in nature. And, with each outfit, came a list of themed tasks the competitor would have to complete before 6 pm. One of the examples given, was a hot dog outfit, with a given task of “buy a hotdog from every restaurant and shop in this area”. The competition mentioned briefly that the outfits offered were very randomized, and pulled from a word bank filled with suggestions from every employee at the studio, and inserted into a bowl that Marie would pull from daily for 30 days. It mentioned some outfits could be risqué, but Marie figured that the outfits wouldn’t expose anything beyond what she was comfortable with. It was reality TV after all.

Of course, Marie had no idea what was in store. Unbeknownst to her, every 5th day required a different bank of challenges, with this “special bank day” being dubbed “Strut Day”, on account of its more... exposing nature. Another competitor who’s film would be used in the first season (an unfortunate engaged couple in their 20’s) found every 5th day to leave them with less fabric on than the last. They started in revealing athletic attire, which only made them slightly embarrassed. By day 20, they had nothing but a few throw pillows with a challenge to “Buy and sell 10 mattresses from different stores.”
