Reader Poll?? (Experiment?)

Hey gang, I had an idea for something I thought might be a fun exercise for me and maybe fun to read for you? I think I'm going to switch Bridget to moderated mode and here's the thought I had behind why. I kept things private so far because, I still want to have a lot of control over the characterization and prose because I have very clear pictures of these characters in my head, and I didn't want to be in the position of feeling guilty for not wanting to add someone's chapter because it didn't align with my mental map for them, or wasting another writer's time if I didn't think it fit the vibe, that idea made me feel gross. So I figured if I was going to be a control freak weirdo about it I needed to not pretend otherwise.

However, that was a few weeks ago and I have been around a little more and seen that on a lot of stories there are guidelines about how people participate. On my other story (Abby) I got some suggestions/requests in the comments and via DM and had fun incorporating elements of them in. I didn't use anybody's idea wholecloth, more an "inspired by" kinda deal, but I hope they enjoyed getting to read a scene and realize part of it was inspired by an idea of theirs.

Anyway, I've been feeling a bit bad for (being gainfully employed in a challenging profession?) neglecting Bridget while I went on a mad space-magic-multiverse-cyberpunk-fourth-wall-smashing tear on the Abby story recently. I was trying to think of stuff I could do to work faster on Bridget because she's also a pretty fun character even if not as fleshed out in committed narrative yet.

So I thought, if people who were enjoying this story up till now thought it would be fun, you could submit requests/ideas/suggestions (either as chapters at a specific point and explain in a paragraph or so what you have in mind and I'll plan to flesh it out there or elsewhere if I can figure out how to make it flow with the story, or DM or comment with an idea you'd like to see worked in somewhere. Or you can add to this chapter. I think I write faster if I have help establishing the direction.

I don't have a really solid idea of the mechanics at this point (newb) so I think this is a figure out and refine as we go kind of thing? I will caution people that I may not use your idea, or use all of it, but on the upside I think that's probably less of a sting than having a chapter rejected that you put work into.

Bridget info off the top of my head.

• Bridget's an eighteen-year-old virgin as of the start of this story. Her parents are strict as fuck and she's just concluded an almost six-month grounding for getting busted over underage drinking on New Year's.
• Her best friend since Kindergarten is Dex, who is bisexual but mostly prefers guys. They have a little bit of history having fooled around sexually when they were young, but have never really been romantically involved and their connection is a little less singly-dimensional than that.
• Her other best friend is Scott, the first popular friend she and Dex ever had. She met him in homeroom their freshman year of high school and the three of them became friends. She has never explored anything romantically with him because he's kind of a ladykiller generally.
• After that fateful party, Scott and Dex haven't been getting along. Neither of them will explain why or even fully admit the extent of the tension.
• She's on a no-parents lake trip with them, because she thought that having some fun like old times would be what it took to bring them back together for one last great summer before college starts, but they're already fighting so things aren't really going to plan.

I have a bunch of only nebulously mentally outlined high drama threads I was curious to explore:

• Drinks on the deck thread: Bridget is so eager to let off some steam that she and Scott go skinny dipping without even waiting for it to get dark. Possible branches: How far does it go? Dex does or doesn't come looking for her/them? OOOOOHHHHHHH CAUGHT?
• Drinks on the deck thread: The big meltdown happens and Bridget goes for a walk in the woods to calm down. Branches: Caught in bad weather? too hurt/angry to go back? Does anybody get pissed off and tantrum off home leaving the other two alone at the cabin?

I have to, like... go do my paid job now but I'll turn this on moderate and we can see how it goes. Maybe it's a flop. Or maybe it's cool. Thanks guys, you have made me so happy with your encouragement of my stories. :)
