Raymond shows up

You felt the nylon stockings rub together as you crossed your legs, an unfamiliar texture sensation catching you off guard. You're surrounded by a desk, paperwork, file cabinets, in a HR office you'd no business being in. You hoped you could just get through this as fast as possible.

"So first of all, do you know what position you've been hired as?"

"Assistant," you say, still managing the lozenge in your mouth.

"Do you know who's assistant?" You shake your head. "Well, we it could be a more general assistant category, I just just need to ensure that...." her words are interrupted by a knock on the door. You look up and your heart skips a beat to see Raymond's leaning in.

"Jane!" he says delighted, "I was just here to talk about you." He looks up to Lisa, "Just checking that my new assistant was getting settled in." HIS assistant? In shock the second lozenge slips down and it gets caught in your throat! Again! You struggle to swallow it.

"Ah so she's your assistant?" Lisa asks.

"Indeed she is, and I can't be happier with her. Any problems setting her up?" he smiles at you. You just try to gulp the lozenge down. Exactly what impression this may leave with him is one you don't want to even imagine.

"Well I wasn't given clear instructions what her role is, but if you're vouching that she's your assistant then that's fine. I'll just register her in the system and get her a desk right outside your office."

"Perfect, great work as always,", then looks to you with a smile "it will be fantastic working with you." You manage to cough the lozenge back into your mouth and clear your throat, but by they time you've done that he's left.

You look back at Lisa, "Okay, Raymond is quite the character. If you have any problems with him... well, worry about that if it happens. In the meantime, you'll be his assistant. Your roles will be running errands, doing paperwork, handling communication, and generally doing whatever he says... within reason. Now lets get you in the system..."
