Chapter 24

CrocodileHAZARD
Does she notice you?
Raven notices, and she is not in a pleasant mood.
Given how narrow the alley is and your lack of escape options, it’s only inevitable that Raven encounters you soon after making her dramatic exit. Still, she’s far enough into the alley that the other Titans cannot see or hear either of you unless shit well and truly hits the fan. Given her recent outburst, you can’t omit it as a possibility.
Her bad mood isn’t helped any upon encountering you. Save for Robin, she was probably the most suspicious of all the Titans regarding you: Cyborg was cautious but willing to let you have your moment, Starfire was rather naïve and didn’t really know that you technically admitted to being open for a potential career as a supervillain, and Beast Boy…well, you honestly have no clue what the green changeling’s opinion on you is.
But back to the here and now: you and Raven crossed paths, and she is not nearly as composed as she was the last time you two parted ways.
“What are YOU doing here!?” she practically growls at you. Call it messed up, but if there wasn’t a hint of demonic influence that sounded like it wanted to tear your stomach out and skip rope with your intestines, you’d be inclined to say she sounded sexy when she was mad.
Still kinda was, just muted because of the whole murderous impulse lurking beneath the words.
You raise your hands up slowly in a gesture of surrender.
“Relax, I’m not here to cause problems,” you reply neutrally.
Her eyes sharpen at that. Clearly she doesn’t believe you.
“Like I’m supposed to believe that?”
You shrug.
“Don’t have to if you think I’m lying. I’m more than willing to prove it if you’d like?”
“And how would you be able to do that?” she asks suspiciously.
“I’d offer to show you first hand my trip from when we last met to right now, but not only would I pass out before we got halfway through it, but I’m pretty sure you'd think of it as a complete fabrication based on my own abilities."
She doesn’t reply, although her posture confirms that she would, indeed, believe that your first-person account of events are fake. Understandable, given that she doesn’t understand your powers all that well. Truth be told, neither do you: it feels like a new one pops up every month or so. Honestly makes it a bit hard to keep track of what all you’re capable of.
“So what I can offer is to show you where I’ve been: I’ve been making an impression on people all day. You may not be able to trust anything I have to say, but civilians have no reason to lie to you about where I’ve been or what I’ve done all day. There hasn’t been a single point where I’ve intentionally followed you or your team.”
She keeps her guard up around you, but she is at least giving your offer some thought.
What does she decide? Will she follow you as you retrace your steps? Or does she decide on something else?
