Raiders of the Ark of Truth

The facility was an underground base, a Goa'uld lab which seemed to be made of various rooms and chambers. In the main chamber, as the discoverer of the base moved towards the center of the chamber, a hologram appeared which feature on old man who eyes then glowed with golden white. In a booming, echoing voice he spoke,

"I am Nin-Ildu, great scientist of the system Lord Ra. For centuries I have been researching the legacies of the ancients, from hidden cashes of the Gate-Builders. I have managed to find one of the great secrets they held, one they had forbidden to themselves and then hidden. Since then I have been trying to rebuild the technology for the use of our empire.

The Gatebuilders once had an enemy which was so powerful, they sought to undo their power by using a device they called the 'Ark of Truth'. The device was built to allow the Ancients to show the truth of what was programmed into the Ark. Once shown the truth, they will believe completely in the existence of that truth, despite all evidence against the truth. Which would be of use to us to avoid future rebellions.

They left the Ark in a place where few could find it... but a power this great was not to be forgotten. Or at least not risked to be forgotten. For they stored the schematics of the device in cause of need or protection, perhaps both. Including in one of the caches of data I had discovered. Reviewing the technology, and slowly reverse engineering it... ever so slowly... I have managed to duplicate it's effects into many devices and tools. I was going to use these to take the empire from Ra and become sole leader of the Galaxy.

Till I learned of a terminal illness in myself, not just the replacible host. I have months to live. So I have decided that only the strongest, smartest and most cunning could have my power and become Supreme System Lord. I have left clues to our current location, hidden and made challenge to find. If your are here, you are worthy of my power. Or just lucky, which is a type of power which is worth.

The power of the Ark is now yours. Use them to gain what is due to you and me."

The hologram disappeared as the figure in the room was revealed to be...
