Emma Vanderheusen was a successful corporate executive from a wealthy and influential family. Tall, blonde, and elegant, she was beautiful and knew it. However, she was a known racist and from a family of racists. There were no people of color in her company’s hierarchy and few (if any) people of color in her company at all and she did not seem to get any blowback for her discriminatory hiring practices.
