Chapter 26

How does the rest of the day go?

Questions and Answers

"Alright, this will make me sound dumb. But what in the world is an enema?" Margaret questioned her stepmother as she got in her car seat.

"So, it's super common for medical professionals to do. What you do is use some water, and let it go into your tummy, until your body eventually kicks it out. It'll clean you right up." Margaret's stepmother replied, looking at the girl through the rearview mirror.

"That sounds uncomfortable!" Margaret protested weakly.

"Silly, we'll just do it once for your probation officer. Then never again. It was just so you could get the letter." Margaret's stepmother replied, driving to the nearest pharmacy.

"Oh. Sorry. I, um, need to trust you more." Margaret replied, letting herself suckle the last liquor from the baby bottle. How right Margaret was, her stepmother internally thought to herself.

"Prescription pickup for...." The woman in the lab coat read the label once more. Hadn't she known that girl in High School? The bitch had beat her out for number 1..... "..Margaret."

"Here!" An older, but sultry, looking woman said, as she pulled along a girl in frilly white dress, a diaper just barely viewable. It was her! Margaret, dressed as a child, looking dazed. She didn't know that the girl was back in town.

Handing over the packs of assorted medicines, the pharmacist let the two go, but let one thought dominate her entire shift. Figure out why Margaret was back in town.

"Right. Let's just grab a few supplies then we can be off Maggie." Margaret's stepmother said, bringing the girl throughout the entire store. All the stuff for her enema. Check. Sleep medication. Check. Junk. Check.

"Oh! Can I get this book?" Margaret asked, pointing at what looked like a semi-accurate historical novel. Having no books put a strain on her, making her stop a habit she'd kept up for years.

"Of course magpie. Get whatever you'd like." Her stepmother said. "Just don't nerd out on me."

As they checked out, Margaret felt the buzz hit her brain as she thought of reading. God. It'd be wonderful.

Eagerly opening up the bags in her car seat, Margaret's face fell at the sight of multiple books, but most certainly not the one's she had chosen. Trashy romance novel. Coloring book....Another trashy romance novel. Picture book? What in the world?

"Um. Did we grab the wrong stuff?" Margaret asked, making her stepmother change her direction and recheck all the purchased goods. She look befuddled when she returned to Margaret's side.

"We have everything we got. Everything okay Maggie?" Her stepmother questioned.

"No. Um. I didn't get these books. I got a history book. How'd these get in there?" Margaret asked, her head hurting. None of this made sense.

"Let me handle it Magster. Here, I'll take them back and get you your book." Her stepmother replied, replacing the bag in her hands with a soda and some chips she had bought in the store.

Margaret had finished both by the time her stepmother came back, now with two bags. Had she resolved the issue?

"They somehow gave us the wrong bag! I don't even know how. They were super apologetic, and even let me keep the old books. I got you that book you liked." Her stepmother said, following it up with another comment. "And swung by the liquor store."

Margaret smiled. Things were just great.

After a night of playing a drinking game with her stepmother, Margaret felt exhausted. More then exhausted. Sick to her stomach. Full from the many course meal and dessert her step mother provided. Dizzy. A host of ailments.

Laying in bed, she gropped for her books. Feeling one, she yanked it to her side, and began to read. Damnit! She'd grabbed a playboy magazine. But now that it was here....

Margaret's stepmother grinned and hearing the buzz of the wand. Checking about a hour later, she made sure Margaret received her needed gel suppositories, then plopped the pacifier back in the girls mouth.

The morning would be eventful...

How does the morning go?
